Brilliant innings by Symonds.
Terrible bowling by Sreesanth. Safe to say he may have cost India the match with dropping Symonds. All talk, no walk. He's fairly a disgrace. Look at how Symonds has backed up his talk in this series. Sreesanth could learn a thing or two.

Let's not underrate the vital role Hopes played there. He won't get much credit but his innings was very valuable.

Yeah I know and its still maddening. With five regular bowlers and two of them bowling well (Harbhajan and Kartik) Dhoni had to go to Yuvraj and lose the momentum. I just cant understand why replace a good left arm spinner with a part time leftarm spinner.Its Kartik SJS, not Karthik, the keeper and now opening batsman

Indian fielding has also been pathetic in this game they misfielded a lot of times and dropped important catches and they paid for it in the end.
I too think some credit needs to go to Hopesy for the way he batted, he came into bat with Australia in a spot of bother and he built a solid partnership with Symonds and made 39 (30) balls and he never let the pressure get to Symonds and that's one of the prime reasons why Aussie were able to post a 300+ target once again.

because of the quality of the aussie fielding, the number of runs they routinely save in the field, this is like a total of 330 or so....we would need at least 3 players(likely tendulkar, dhoni, yuvraj) to really shine and at least a couple of others to provide good support in addition to decent slices of luck to sneak this one...too tall an order against the aussies...
