Exactly, he's just looking for a reaction.Nah, people give a **** but it's easier just ignoring it imo.
Besides Brad Williams (who you'll find very few defending), you see them running over to celebrate with their team-mates, or at worst say something on their way through. That's different to standing in front of someone for 5 seconds yelling at them.honestbharani said:because it is done to an Aussie??? The same thing gets done by these Aussies so many times and yet it is not brought up. I have seen guys like Lee do that as a send off to so many batsmen, Gillespie has done it, Bichel has done it, Brad Williams was a master at it in the little time he did play....
A completely agree.Exactly, he's just looking for a reaction.

No....i can show u a lot of people who still celebrate a pakistan win over india by bursting crackers....even thogh the numbers will be less...they still exists...Indians hating Pakistani teams and Pakistanis hating Indian teams is a bit out of fashion where I am concerned. I talked with quite a few Pakistanis during the Twenty20 world cup final and no one carried any hatred and all. Same goes for the Indians in the crowd. One Pakistani said to be - doesn't matter who wins. A good game of cricket is far more important. Our generation doesn't carry the hatred against each other's country where the people are concerned at large.
What's wrong with that?No....i can show u a lot of people who still celebrate a pakistan win over india by bursting crackers....even thogh the numbers will be less...they still exists...
Nothing..if u think that they are celebrating for the fact that they are good crickting side....What's wrong with that?
Oh you are talking of a very very very small minority of muslims living in India who support Pakistan? I wasn't talking about that.Nothing..if u think that they are celebrating for the fact that they are good crickting side....
NO its becuse they are Islamic Republic of Pakistan
and i dont wish to talk more on this..but its the truth.....
ya i said they are less..but they do anny me..and i know couple of guys..whom i have meet every now and then...as part of job...Oh you are talking of a very very very small minority of muslims living in India who support Pakistan? I wasn't talking about that.
A bit of a misunderstanding on your part... I was talking about the hate for Pakistan and its teams among Indians and hate for India and its teams among Pakistanis (which I believe has reduced at large).ya i said they are less..but they do anny me..and i know couple of guys..whom i have meet every now and then...as part of job...
I never actually considered that. It sounds pretty dire. I guess people who can support who they want for whatever reason they like but that doesn't sit right with me.Oh you are talking of a very very very small minority of muslims living in India who support Pakistan? I wasn't talking about that.
I think they are a minority and I suspect you find more of them out of their countries of origin. Indians and Paksitanis who live in other countries seem to hold on to a much more fanatic concept of nationalism than those actually living in India and Pakistan. I have made many friends amongst Pakistanis over the last fifteen odd years and haven't felt the slightest whiff of such sentiments towards india and Indians.No....i can show u a lot of people who still celebrate a pakistan win over india by bursting crackers....even thogh the numbers will be less...they still exists...
Not at all...there's a difference between saying something to someone, and getting in someone's face, or attempting a run out that could be described as dubious if you were being nice, or very very poor sportsmanship if you were feeling a little less kind.He might be little childish but I am glad that finally we have someone who can match these Aussies on the verbal battle!!!
Aussies are getting taste of their own medicine. I hope now they realize how it feels.
I'd have to disagree, I think the opposite is true if anything. We are portrayed as the king's of ugly behaviour, and if anyone else does it then they're just 'fighting back'.I was not implying that Australia's behavior goes against the spirit of cricket. I was merely suggesting that Australia can also show similar behavior and get away with it because they simply win matches and display class at the same time while Sreesanth's behavior is occurring while India are losing matches which is the reason his behavior is being portrayed as idiotic aka all talk, no action.
Why is that different story?
And yes, I also know of Indians who are thrilled when Pakistan loses even to another country. The fanatics are everywhere.No....i can show u a lot of people who still celebrate a pakistan win over india by bursting crackers....even thogh the numbers will be less...they still exists...
because it is done to an Aussie??? The same thing gets done by these Aussies so many times and yet it is not brought up. I have seen guys like Lee do that as a send off to so many batsmen, Gillespie has done it, Bichel has done it, Brad Williams was a master at it in the little time he did play....
Look, I am not condoning Sree's behaviour at all here, but there is no way in hell is it any worse than the McGraths, the Symonds, the Afridis, the Lees etc. of this world....
And on another note (and I know this is OT but) why do haroon and Raghav hate India so much? I can always understand why some people like some teams and support them passionately (like Turb etc) but how can you explain just pure hatred towards a certain team? Is that allowed in these forums? Do they have to publicly make fun of and humiliate India and Indian cricketers? I know not many pay too much attention to them but I think it is quite ridiculous that we have to put up with the stuff they say in their sigs etc. and their gloatings when India lose. It is one thing to support a team and feel happy about their wins but this is a rather perverse thing to do, saying you hate a certain team and then make fun of them and their supporters when they lose. Doesn't anyone else thing it is just plain wrong? And BTW, the same goes for anyone else here at CW who hates any team, not jus India....
I agree it never lasts for 5 full seconds but they do give send-offs and from whatever little I could make out on TV, they have said stuff much worse than the YESSS uttered by Sree.Exactly, he's just looking for a reaction.

yeah, but I have... I remember even MacGill once giving a bit of a send off to an Indian batsman, not sure who it was.I have to disagree again, I haven't seen Gillespie, or Lee act like this. I have seen McGrath do it on the other hand.
Basically, I think it's a bit of a cultural difference really between what supporters think is ok and what isn't.
