Alright its time to make a decision. How many mangers are keen enough to continue and keep this game running. When i mean continue i mean more then just post a side each week. Actually contribute and keep the activity levels up. There still apart of me that wants to keep this game running. After a busy two months i've got enough time to get it back up and running properly. But i don't want to put the time and effort in, if we don't have enough keen managers.

Its now or never if their are any managers who really want this game to continue. Don't just say yes for sake of it, cus im not going to put the effort unless we really have enough manager that want this to continue.

Chamida, Its a good game and its really hurts me when I see very little of them turn up actively...
Personally, I take this game as seriously as my other games. I would want to see this game active as long as possible. As I already said, You can take my help if you need any help.. in running.

Live longer WCC

I would think starting the game afresh would be a better idea... as we would know how many actually are interested in...

If we continue the same old games for this season, we would still see WCC falling back...

I reckon we need to take a break for a while, it's gone awfully stale and I don't think any number of "restarts" will help. I think the idea is sound, but I think we ought to come up with some new challenges before the game is eventually relaunched.

Yeah, AWTA. Take a break, get a group of people together, who are willing to commit a bit of time, and then plan everything out. I'd be more than happy to help out. I reckon if we do that, get a solid foundation, solid plans set out, people will become a lot more interested in it.

Take a break from it for a while then start with new teams and new simming staff. With this it should bring more interest.

Keep it going. I couldn't imagine being on the forums without this sim. Even if it's something like 10 managers or something. WCC was at its best when it was simple.

actually i totally agree with ya mate.

when we first started it ages and ages ago there was only 6 or 8 managers and it was quality.

Geez I miss a week (btw sorry guys for not posting a team last week) and I come back to find that people are trying to end WCC.

I am for trying to continue with WCC, and IMHO we should finish the season, the 2nd XI is gone anyway, and if people don't submit just strike them out, and move on.

I hate to be harsh, but if we can have a regular time when the games will be simmed that would help. I know it works in the other pbem that I play, and was probably the strength of WCC in the good times.

Anyway, let me know, i'm keen to get a side in, to make up for last week.

um well im only a newb to this but id say if you started afresh there could be some renewed enthusiasm as the squads would be highly accurate player wise, which could help, also by starting afesh you would be able to eliminate the guys who arent putting any effort towards the game easily and quickly

anyway thats my 2 cents worth, i hope this continues tho in watever form u guys choose to hold it, i was/am keen to get involved

I'd like to see it continue in some form. Starting fresh is probably the best idea though.

id certainly love it to continue, but if taking a break and then starting afresh is what is needed to rekindle the interest in it then thats probably the best thing

lets not break for too long however, i was still really enjoying it...

take away my resignation i do love wcc and would luv to see it continue....lets have a crisis meeting with the board and come up with something guys.....

i guess the biggest thing is interactions and time management.

in the old days we used to have to post a match report and it was either the home side or away side not both. that was a good interaction part.

go back to the old player of the year points where i would run it and just go through each game and give 3 21 and post it each week like dally m is done until the last few rounds. or someone else can do it but keeps everyone keen as they have players going well in the end of season points.

ontime gaming so fridays are hard for me but weekends a little easier, every second i am off.

just some thoughts.

Personally i like the way it is now well the teams etc mainly because i was finally getting somewhere with mumbai.

but at the height of popularity the 2nd XI thing was ok(i hated it) and it just got too much when blewy and simon(it seems probably the most popular 2 people on the forum) left.

Now people who dont want to do anything just leave it. Starting fresh(although i voted for keep going) might be the best thing.

Making sure we have the amount of people with the teams(and you never know we could actually start with teams that actually have those people in) who are committed to the cause.

It all started to get too complicated when different divisions with different amount of teams and 2nd XI matches etc this then made too much on certain people who do simming and updated stats. They have lives too(apparently).

(on another point next week ill be away next week so dont start without me)

Alright first of all its really nice to see so many managers posting their comments about where we should take WCC. I'm with majority of long term managers that the forum will not be the same without WCC. When i took over WCC its was the generally comment i got from most people who have been involved in the game in the past. CW and WCC go hand and in hand, in some ways the place wont be the same without the sim.

But realistically we have to look at a logical way we can keep the game running. The biggest error i think i made was trying to just take off from where Simon and Blewy left it. There been a lot of significant changes since they were running the game and i didn't take that into consideration.

I don't think its possiable to keep the game running with 24 teams. For two reasons, one being the time it takes to sim matches. Really its a 2nd job running this game and need a lot of spare time. When I first started I had that time, but now probably not, some times real life does take over. If we only had say 6-12 sides it would be lot easier to manage time to sim matches. Also pool of managers isn't high enough to run the game with 24 sides, there just not enough managers coming through. In short we basically need to start from beginning.

I know a lot of newer managers are calling for new teams and starting the player pool again. But I think one of things that makes the game it is for older managers is that you feel personally connection with your players. It will take a lot of from the game for older managers if they had to start with new teams. If and when it does start again i think we should keep some of same sides and then filter around the other players. Similar to what happened when we went from 36 sides to 24 sides.

Where to from now. I think taking a break is the best option. As some others have mentioned the game has become very repetitive and seems to be going through the motions. How long should this break be is the big question. If i keep running the game there probably three options, two months (when I have 2 weeks off for Christmas from work). Six months when i should have settled into my TAFE course and have a lot more free time. Or one year when I've finished my TAFE course and only have one commintment which is working full time. I think the best is to just play it by ear, I think we need atleast 2-3 months off. So we can start like is a new thing.

There is the option of someone else taking over the whole thing. I personally am still keen to keep running the game once I have the time to run it properly again. But if someone is truelly keen enough to take the whole thing over then i'm happy to give them all the stuff. But its something you need to know what happening in your life for the next 4-6 months and make sure you have the time. The change in my life over the last two months has been the thing thats really made this game struggle lately.

In suming things up we need a break for atleast 2-3 months. Once we start again we need to start over with less sides, no more then 12 IMO.

If managers are happy with this, its probably a good idea if managers can put forward some thoughts about the format when we do start again. Just so we have a platform to work with. I got a few ideas myself but just want to know honestly what managers want in terms of squad sizes, league sizes, season length and how to keep any new managers still keen. If we do go down path expect a start sharp season to start off with.
