Good win. Kemp was fortunate not be out early on but it's a prerequisite for him to smash the New Zealanders and he duly obliged today. Fantastic knock, picked his target bowlers and respected the better ones.

Oram's bowling is exceptionally suspect in this format, today he just bowled a whole host of nice gentle full tosses, of which Justin Kemp said ta very much. Also, Chris Martin is not for me an international bowler, and in this shortened version he just does not cut it for me.

Nah Martin has never been anything but a first morning on a green top test bowler.

Oram's bowling career in 20/20:

12 overs, 131 runs, 1 wicket, E/R: 10.91. Disgraceful. Absolutely bloody disgraceful. Rubbish Agarkar's got nothing on Oram.
Go on, make another five posts about how much Oram sucks :p

Fair play to the other side, our batting let us down at the end I'd say.

No complaints. We can't (hopefully won't) moan about Kemp not being given after the way we gave away our first 2 games.
Well, it did balance out when Morkel wasn't given his fyfer, and NZ got a free hit from a no-ball that wasn't.

lol yeah Gillespie given a life in the 19th over and the extra run that be got was the same as Kemp being plumb LBW when he was on 4, let alone Kemp being out again in the 19th over.

Dunno why England are bowling Flintoff here unless it's to give him a little workout to get his ankle strong.

The reassuring sight of sheer English incompetence, as Dmitri drops a sitter. I know the match doesn't matter, but just for once look like you've played the game before boys.

I always enjoy it when England decide to go into limited-overs internationals with an all-seam attack. Its always this fruitful, I find8-)

The opening pair of Sehwag and Gambhir has shown that with sensible batting and loads of runs in quick time, you don't need to stack the team with batsmen. Not only did they attack some bits-and-pieces elements of the England attack, they ran hard between the wickets. They even targetted the non-regular wicketkeeper, stealing singles each time the ball went to him. In comparison to the ODI opening partnership in England, who stood root-footed at the crease and hardly ran or took on the bowling and fielding, they've tried to smash even a few good balls and took off at the sniff of a single. Hopefully this will be the ODI opening combination- both are also Test contenders.

Wonder what happened to that man in the stands hit by a Sehwag six. As David Lloyd said, he was there to have a little fun, not get hurt.

ADD-ON: Oh well...Yuvraj and Flintoff had something to say, Yuvraj's expression being anything but friendly, and he hits a huge six...and six more!

As Ravi Shastri said...Yuvraj doing to Broad what Mascarenhas did to him...and Broad can bowl...
