As much as i'd hate to see our bowlers hammered, i sure as hell hope Tendulkar is in this sort of form in Australia this summer.

Really, if England are going to have Mascarenhas at 8 with no Flintoff in the team, they can't afford to play Panesar, IMO. Bringing on Mascarenhas and Collingwood as first and second change is just too innocuous. Having Mascarenhas tie out one end with his economical stuff is fair enough, but it can't really be done with Collingwood at the other end. England need three genuine seamers for each game IMO, and Mascarenhas, as much as I think he should be persisted with as a bowler, doesn't qualify. This lineup would be fine in Flintoff was at 7 instead of Wright, but they just lack too much in the bowling department for mine. Should have played Lewis or Tremlett (if he's fit yet) instead of Panesar.
And now Sky make the exact same point. Atherton must read my posts. :p

Really enjoying Dada's game as well, that little spat he had with Broad and then smacking him down the ground for six next over was brilliant entertainment

He was obviously too smart for the umpire - nicely kidded him into getting involved for no reason. Good luck to him though.

Haha Ganguly is such a champ.

And Tendulkar is so bloody good to watch when he bats like this. Gorgeous cricket.

Batting fantastically well these two, starting to worry a little now. QUOTE]

Only starting to worry? You're a lot more optimistic than I am about this particular no-contest.
Runs on the board is important. They have had a great start, still fancy us to do it though.

Trouble is, we don't have even one bowler who can apply any pressure on these guys on the usual apology for wicket that Surrey produce. With the RRR well below 6 an over, this has become an easy chase. As I said before, we absolutely needed breakthroughs with the new ball, so now we're stuffed afaics.

They've said it was now, but I can't think why Collingwood would want to do that with these two running riot.

England need a wicket, and with Panesar on, it may induce a false stroke from one of these two. Alternatively these two may continue to run riot, but it is a risk I think England need to take.

Hapless English bowlers can just stand and admire the genius of Tendulkar because they can hardly do anything else.
I can't see Indians losing from here and the old firm of Ganguly and Tendulkar have really put this game beyond England's grasp.

you are Atherton imo

Excellent stuff here, what more can one say? Going to a seventh and tbh this whole series has been high value and even though I was highly crictical of 7 ODIs and still don't like them, this series hasn't failed to deliver.
