So what are the odds now that Martin Jol will be sacked at the end of the season? Surprised Jermain Defoe stayed, two 20+ seasons and mainly playing as a sub.

Hope they sack him. Ungrateful ****s are too deluded to realise he's the best thing that's happened to them since Bill Nicholson.

Emile Heskey. LOL.
Weirdly enough, we were discussing him as a possible in the pub on Friday night. I personally think it makes some kind of sense as a (very) short-term measure. He's combined semi-half-decently with Owen before & as Crouch is suspended for the Israel game.....

Indicative of the direness of other options tho, clearly.

Saw today that Petr Cech is of the opinion Scott Carson should be England's first choice goal keeper and Tony Adams believes that there is no point dropping Paul Robinson for David James.

Interesting what BB will make of what Adams thinks given his place in Arsenal's history.

Word but looking at the Villa game just now what about Agbonlahor?. He and Ashely Young who has surely put his name up for a start next week were very excellent againts the Chelsea backline just now.

All these injuries at such a crucial time though Lampard out & Campbell too this is horrifc now man, at least Woodgate looked good on saturday & i dunno Kevin Nolan could be called to replace Lamps since England are suddenly short of fit central mid-field options.

ATM i reckon a 4-3-3 formation is the way to go, England need to be aggressive with these teams from the word go..

Meh. Big Tone may have a point given James's past performances for England (and he also gave away a very soft pen today, with a dire charge that was never going to end with him getting the ball), but Robinson has played himself out of the jersey for mine. Carson's largely unproven; he didn't do anything wrong today, but wasn't really called on to make any saves.

Be more interesting to see what James thinks, given Adams is on Pompey's coaching staff....

Does anybody rate the Everton striker James Vaughan? I've seen him play only a few times and TBF it wasn't the whole game but from I've seen he looks alright. Maybe those who have seen him play more...?

He does that time after time, just charges out and clatters the player and gives a penalty away every time. I don't want him or Robinson keeping for England. Anyone else will do really although Kirkland if he's fit should be first choice in my opinion.

And I laugh when you think it is easy to get South Africans to play for the English rugby and cricket teams but you can't convince and Italian to play for England.

It has to be law to include at least one South African born in an England rugby and/or cricket team surely?

Ffs will Liverpool fans on 606 shut up already, talking as if everyone else might as well give up.

You've beaten two promoted sides and one good side, with a draw against a good side. Of the good sides, you very lucky against Villa, and were unlucky against Chelsea, but they haven't looked very good against anyone.

I'd be extremely surprised if Liverpool mount a serious challenge.

Much like the All Blacks and Fijians/Samoans. :p

I dunno about an Italian keeper (guessing you mean Cudicini), but I did read we were trying to poach a Danish one: McClaren reportedly sounding out Schmeichel's kid about a change of allegiance but he blew us out.
