I could see merit in picking Gambhir if another opener was needed - but I don't see the point in picking him and making him bat in the middle order. For that reason, I'd pick Sharma.

And Foxtel is really dire. I'm sending them another angry letter. I can almost cop the 4 hour delays - I just avoid the result and pretend I'm watching it live. But it's not on for another 19 hours ffs, no hope of me avoiding the result for that long.

Post it here, start a thread, imo.

It'll be a mixture of Ganguly+Tendulkar+Yuvraj most probably. Gambhir can't bowl.
Okay, thanks :) India could really do with some more all-round ability somewhere in this team. Maybe there's someone who is in the twenty20 team who could show something at the WC.

Bit tough on Broad not getting the new ball today, although I suppose I can see the logic in not having Lewis with many left at the death.
Mind you, SRT is murdering Lewis now.

Early days, of course, but this is looking very dangerous for England without Flintoff to shore up some of the middle & death overs.

And I can't believe Lewis was kept on after his last over went for 18 & Broad is available.

Haha, people are always so quick to jump all over Lewis because he looks like such a dire bowler. He's copped some tap today, but so have the best of them, and Lewis's ODI career has been brilliant thus far. I'm as sure as all of you that he's overachieved and that it'll even out if he plays more, but he's so under-rated it's not funny.

The Headingley crowd must be thinking they've seen this before - remember the game against SL last summer? Mercifully that didn't last 50 overs because SL were chasing, but this is looking like a full innings worth of carnage. Not for the faint-hearted amongst the English supporters.

Oh great, Prior's just dropped Tendulkar. :@

How often does that have to happen before Moores develops a spine?
