Today's pontless post: Tremlett's bowling average is Potning-esque.

For the life of me, he and Clark, I don't think I'll comprehend. They are good bowlers at the Test level, but they are 2nd XI fodder at ODI level.

Yup. Mascarenhas must have been really chuffed to miss out today after Tremlett went for eight-an-over in the last game.

And now we're missing Flintoff terribly: India know they can milk Panesar, Collingwood & Bopara at 6 or 7 an over without taking any risks at all. Barring a couple of shocks, you'd expect Ganguly & Dravid to see them home by the 45th over.

Is this reality or Battrick you're commenting on?

I think India will lose the game. Chawla and Powar have very little to show as batsmen in ODI cricket and you need players at 7 or 8 who can score 30's and 40's at a run a ball. Of course Dhoni could play a special innings and win the game but it's still a bad strategy in the long run. Let's not forget that Karthik is not proven as an ODI batsman.

I don't think Sehwag is a bad option actually. Someone who can average around 30 in quick time and bowl 6-8 useful overs is exactly what India needs.

Ganguly playing a great test knock here.... 51 of 90 balls8-)
Comeon... Its Collingwood and Panesar bowling.

His job is to provide support for Dravid at the other end. The knock is fine.
Bit more rotation of strike would be nice thou... instead of all dot balls.
Ganguly blatsts a 6 just to shut me up.... but still he needs to take singles and rotate the strike.

Yeah once the partnership had stabilized things a bit Ganguly should have been given license to go after the slower bowlers. One reason India isn't doing that may be that they know their batting basically ends at 6. Leaves you a lot less room to take risks.

Probably, but S/R of 60 isn't horrible when Dravid is going at 100. If they can get to the 40th over without losing a wicket, India will likely win even if the RR has climbed to 8-9.

Yep. If we get to the 40th with about 80 required and these two still there, we should win. That means about 70 in the next 11..doable.

Agree these 2 need to play until 40th over.... they have to keep the RR in check as well... don't let it ballon upto 8-9. Even with Dhoni and Yuvraj to come, going to be hard.

edit- Dravid gone.

He's come back rather well, it must be said. Decent catch from Prior to see Ganguly off too.
He can thank Collingwood as well..... he kept the pressure on indian batsman from one end. Pretty good bowling by him. Kudos to the man.... underrated cricketer indeed.

Tad premature I reckon, but India seem to have quite a long tail so it probably depends on these two.
If it was 80 runs odd than i would've said, its going to go to end but i've seen Dhoni play some horrible shots and Yuvraj has a habit of getting himselg out :p

But yeh game on at least until these 2 are still in.
