a lot of the indian players have gone down with flu... bad news TBH...especially when india need to win this game at Bristol. Sachin generally dos well here...so im pretty sure india will win as long as sachin doesnt rule himself out with flu!

Why do India need to win?

Not that it isn't important for them to, but in a 7 match series, I don't see how the 2nd match is a must-win, do-or-die match.

I'd consider giving Zaheer a rest because he's been working his ass off lately.

Doesn't mean they need to win it, although it would be very difficult to win from 2-0 down.
Winning early matches in a series is always beneficial irrespective of whether its a five match series or a 7 match series.

2-0 down as you pointed out, although would not be that difficult considering the opposition. Had it been 5 match series, yes,,, 2-0 down, then its really very difficult

Damn, India may go in with a lone spinner once again. This ground may be on the smaller side but Powar really needs to get in the side asap.

AWTA, get rid of Gambhir and replace him with Powar. The Indian batting is good enough that they can use only 5 batsman with Dhoni coming in at #6, especially with all rounders like Powar and Chawla.

Do you think chawla to be 'in' in the side for this match?

I hope so, India really need to play five bowlers and I think two spinners is the way to go, particularly with Munaf Patel still coming back from injury.

I think a seamer is better than a spinner in this wicket. From the past stats, its clear that seamers have done a far better job than the spinners. The other thing that worries me fielding in a spinner is that because of short boundaries.

Just a miss hit might be away for SIX! suicidal for a spinner

Well Munaf is hardly in top condition if the selectors do go for 5 specialist bowlers is he? So Powar and Chawla are pretty much the only options unless they opt for Ganguly/Tendulkar/Yuvraj to be the 5th bowler.

I would like to see Uthappa in and Chawla to be out. A extra batsman here would be handyfull in this type of conditions, as I think this is gonna be high scoring thriller

I have nothing against Uthappa playing but we do not need one bowler less than the last game we need one more.

England have made one change : Chris Tremlett has replaced Monty Panesar. For India, Ramesh Powar and Munaf Patel are in while Gautham Gambhir has been dropped and Zaheer Khan misses out due to flu.
