ICL if it stands for 3 years is good of Cricket ......

but if it fails it would have done more harm to it than wht it is now

The BCCI's lack of support for grass roots and lower level cricket is atrocious. Why can't a country with a billion people produce a cricket team that can get past the first round of the World Cup? Start there.

pasag--> this line holds good for whole of indias Sporting bodys it has something to do with the attitude of the people also, not that the boards are doing enough.but still in india most of them try to go for good job and very very few see sports as a way of life. even the people who are good sportsman once they achive the objective of finding a job just try to participate only in very few events.

I find it interesting that no England players signed up. I would think guys like Mal Loye who are totally (and publicly) disenfranchised with the system would jump at the opportunity. Is it that they weren't approached or they turned down offers?

Now that's a fair statement and something I totally agree. ICL clearly has to do more to build their credibility and functioning for 3 years is the first things.

If it fails now then it will definately do more harm and infact allow BCCI to be even more dictatorish.

Interesting. Also very surprising TBH given that doing that sort of communication-with-the-left-out thing sympathetically is something Graveney has always been superb at, one of the (often hugely underrated - see the Razzaq case for just one recent example of its true importance) reasons why he's made such a good CoS. Clearly one has slipped through the net here: "you're just a fill-in player" is hardly the best thing to say to someone.

As George said, though, he's surely a) better off in domestic cricket over here and b) not someone Kapil et al are especially likely to be thinking of as big-namers.

Perhaps a failure might be the best for all parties. We won't have some of Indian (and world) cricket's superstars being stuck in a Twenty20 league that will mean quite little to them; they'll be back in proper Ranji cricket. After the scare of the ICL, maybe the BCCI will screw their heads on and function properly.

Maybe. Maybe.

Alternatively, the BCCI may just continue to act as they have done, as an untouchable organisation.

Well that's specific, ain't it?

If we could award the Inzy to the BCCI, I probably would.

i didn't get this from the minute the word icl pop out in the news..
what is the difference between icl and english counties? if international players are allowed to play county cricket and also represent thier countries why not play in icl..and play international cricket.. why is pcb, bcci and other international cricket board are not leting the players to play for icl?

Those boards would feel the ICL is a direct threat to their revenues and power, which obviously English County Cricket is not. To them, there is a huge difference.

More hypocrisy from the BCCI; they're banning the ICL players from playing under the BCCI ever again, but won't ban the sponsors of the ICL from bidding for BCCI sponsorships.

This is a clear indication that the BCCI have no legal right to ban the ICL players from playing under the BCCI. Obviously companies have more resources to mount a legal challenge upon the BCCI if they were stopped from bidding for sponsorship rights, something the players can't do without a lot of headaches.
