New Cricket Trivia - 'SJS format'

Tapioca

State Vice-Captain
Gilly was the other in my mind. Quite impressive that Sang and Gilly did it more than once.
So, we have 3 wk...I doubt there's any more...is there ?
Even so, it is exemplary batting

Someone go

The original question was

Who are the only 2 (?) wicket-keepers to lead the batting aggregates and averages in a Test series of 3+ matches for both sides ?
None of these series (except Lindsay) had more than three Tests.

I had posted three others after mentioning Lindsay, then deleted them after reading the question again - Gilchrist in SA, Flower in SL 1999-00 and Imtiaz Ahmed v NZ 1955-56

JASON

Cricketer Of The Year
Bradman talking about Harvey to, I think, Mailey, after Harvey asked Mailey (or Fleetwood Smith) to ask Bradman for a piece of advise on the way to his first tour in 1948.
Welcome Back SJS !! :) Please do stick around.:)

My bad. By 3+, I meant 3 or more Tests, but could see how that could have been misinterpreted. Anyhoo, brought forth much valuable info.

Buddhi Kunderan was the leading run scorer for India in 1963-64 home series against England with 525 runs at 52,5 but he was second in averages to an unlikely Bapu Nadkarni who had 5 not outs in 8 innings.

Thanks for the welcome Archie. I havent been well but will visit off and on.

At least five keepers have led the batting averages in a series of 3 or more tests. Three of them were 5 test series.

Add one more five test achievement to that.

Waite scored 362 runs at 40.2 against Australia in a five test series in 1957-58.

That makes six in all and four in a five test series.

ADD YET ANOTHER FIVR-TEST-er :)

Engineer with 415 runs at 41.5 against England in a 5 test series in 1972-73.

Seven in all - five in five test series and counting !!

Its that man Jacobs again !!

Again with exactly 317 runs
and again against South Africa
and again in a five test series
but at 45.3 and this time away from home.

Its seven and nine now. Think we still might touch double figures :)

There are simply too many three test series. I might still add to the five (or four for that matter) list yet. Just an excercise to pass the time Tapi my friend nothing more. :)

Number Eight (for five test series) : Alec Stewart : 397 runs at 56.7 each against Pakistan in 1992.

PS : Stewart kept wickets in only two of the five tests so this may not count :(

Aha ! A legitimate number eight.

Alan Knott averaged 149 (which was also his total contribution by way of runs) in a five test series in 1967-68 against Windies. The fact thathe did not himself play all the games of the series should not disqualify him. :)

AND FINALLY # 10

Jim Parks in the 1959-60, 5 test series in Windies. Parks scored 144 runs at an average of 144 !. He played just one test in the series.

I give up though there just might be a couple more.

Isn't the question who had the highest Aggregate and Average? Not just the Average
