***Official*** India in England

Kumble is not the blocker he used to be, so I don't think he will be around for more than 10 overs. Dhoni needs to go all out.

This is ideal pitch for Dhoni, there should be no excuses for him to not cross the 50.

Agreed, Dhoni needs to play his natural game... Kumble needs to give him support until Dhoni gets out, then the tailenders including Kumble can go haywire.

Can't see England winning this with India at 424-6 and still batting.

Dhoni is a bloody idiot. He is doing the same thing he was doing at Lord's. 48 ball partnership, Kumble has faced 34 of them. Utterly ridiculous.

And another single of the first ball!!!!! Looks to me like he is going for a not out.

Get over it striker. Kumble bats one position lower then Dhoni. The fact that Dhoni is a better batsmen means he's able to rotate the strike better.

Because he seems to be able to handle the bowling?
I don't think Dhoni should go into the "protect the bowlers" bit just yet. After Kumble, may be.

He trusts Kumble, and he should since Kumble is an able bat. They have four wickets left. For now, they should look for runs and not to shepherd the tail.

Kumble's average is half of Dhoni. It's not just a matter of being 'one down', its the difference between a specialist bowler and a batsman.
