The one-day series starts in two weeks tbh.
Just because it is a test match does not mean you just block every ball you get. Having faced 120 balls, Tendulkar should have already scored around 70. The wicket is a batting paradise and everyone else scored fluently. Of the 36 runs, he has scored 12 came in boundaries. Therefore, he has scored only around 24 off the remaining 117 balls. That means he has not even rotated the strike properly.
Get him off!

India desperately need to end without losing any more wickets. If they do that, the day is theirs, but if they lose even one wicket, it's pretty even IMO.

To put it simply, India are on the verge of winning the series, the best way to do that is to get a massive score batting as long as possible, if they can bat for over 2 days and then try and bowl out England twice it would be great, if they can't bowl England out and they draw who cares? They still win a historic series. How fast they score is of absolutely no importance to India and its batsmen.

Any team should always be looking to win and not draw. If India get the runs swiftly and there is no reasdon why they should not considering it is a good batting track, that means they get more time to bowl at England. It also means England can have a go and try their bit to win. A result is more probable that way.
Tendulkar is resting on his past laurels and needs to go!
Why is he trying to crawl his way to a century? And then he is not successful anyway.

Ah yes, being 300/4 at the end of the first day is such a horrible place to be in if you want to win a Test match.
Before Tendulkar started his crawl, they were going at about 4.3 runs per over.
And it is not just this match I am talking about. Tendulkar has been this way for a long time now. He always crawls even when the situation demands otherwise.

And If India go for runs quickly and get out quicker as well, which tends to happen with agressive batting, then what? And you underestimate a good batting track, India making 400 in a day doesn't mean much when England could do that as well tomorrow and can be right back in the match. No one is saying he is or should be going for the draw, but should he be trying to score quickly for the sake of it? No and saying otherwise shows a basic lack of understanding of India's position in the series and more importantly Test cricket.

Obviously, being 308/4 now, with your batsman being 44* and 16* at the end of the first day, is a pretty bad performance for the day if you want to win.
On a serious note, have you ever watched a proper game of Test cricket in your life?

If it was any other batsman I bet this attitude would be different he'd get congratulated for hangin in their when not feeling in great nick. How f****** ungrateful are some Indian fans when it comes to Tendulkar? He may not be as good as he once was but is still better than any replacement India have and still holds his own against 90% of international batsmen.
exactly! its a test match ffs....sachin is solidifying the innings...its not like he got to like 25 off 100 balls and then got out. AND...what are the chances that Dhoni will come in and do well?

We have heard that time and again. No it is not okay if that batsman starts doing that in every test he plays. I myself argued in favor of Tendulkar's batting in BD where he was trying to get in form.
There is no way of saying that he is better than the replacemens India have.

And a good day for India. Need to carry on and score 450 to 500, though any score above 400 will be acceptable.
My ideal total of 560 at the end of the second day is unlikely though.
yh...pretty much on the spot there SS...should get abt 450 and we would settle for that TBH.
