Whatever it takes!!!
When I've mentioned the spin department being an advantage to the Aussies, I meant it in the sense that its a comparative advantage as the Windies don't have a really top notch spinner - ie its one area where the Australia team is clearly better than the Windies.

From recollection, Viv had no problem with spinners except sometimes they'd run out of replacement balls for the ones he hit clear out of the ground. Sobers had no issues to my knowledge, and Lara's duels with Warne are the stuff of legend round these parts. I don't recall Headley being mentioned as having a problem with spin, but then, I'm not sure what class of spin he was ever tested against - there were some decent twirlers around then, but I don't know if he played against them, although I suspect he probably did and did so well.
thanks.... now I get what you meant. :)

Matthew. Lawrence. Hayden. :)

Great stuff by the Aussies, superb performance by the bowlers, especially pidge. And how was Miller's economy rate? O'Reilly a little disappointing, Lindwall might be feeling hard done by, but I wouldn't change a winning combination. Good to see The Don make runs, though still waiting on something huge from him before the end of the series.

Marshall making his presence felt too, as was always bound to happen.

The series is set up brilliantly now.

Could someone also post the series averages so far? Will give us a reference point of who is performing when we talk about selections.

I told you all it was a mistake to drop Morris for Hayden! But seriously, great stuff from Haydos - way to answer the question marks about his ability against a good pace attack! :p

Ponting was a solid contributor in the first innings, without setting the world on fire, but probably did enough. Chappell finally produced something which is good, because otherwise, I'd think he'd be on the chopping block. Mt. St. Bradman recorded a serious tremor, so hopefully the massive eruption is about to commence...

The bowlers worked pretty well as a unit, although O'Reilly was quite disappointing. Is it Adelaide or Sydney next? If Adelaide I'd whip him out in favour of Lindwall, who was unfortunate to go in the first place. And his ability with the bat is handy compared to O'Reilly.

Really happy with how the series is shaping up.

Must say Im surprised by the lack of centuries by the Don ( although i do expect him to get a few b4 the series is done). One has to remember however, that unlike his actual career the Don is facing an all time/worldclass bowling attack (the likes of which he hasnt ever faced b4). Also the first 2 wickets favored the Wi attack to a great degree (esp Perth). If i were Australia i wood definitely drop one of the pacemen and bring in a Grimmet or an O'reilley.

BTW are we going to have a return series in the Wi?
Viv Richards hasn't exactly dominated either.Nonetheless its good to see the likes of Lara chipping in with useful innings
