So I Walked Into A Bar...

And of course Wales thrashed England in a one-dayer a few years ago. Mostly courtesy of honorary mutton raisers like Mike Kasprowicz IIRC, but still a fine achievement FWIW.

What seperates Geraint Jones from Strauss? Not born in England, no English blood, raised in Queensland. Strauss is more English than Geraint.

Simon Jones isn't English either. Welsh != Englishman of a non-English background
I actually forgot what my point about that was. If I remember, I will post it.

Dilution of player quality.

visiting A teams from other countries
Most countries have this don't they?

UCCE teams
Formalised training sessions and give these players an opportunity to play with the big boys, doesn't raise the standard of quality.

"Extensive", which is what Steulen said ITFP, is about quantity not quality, and if you want "undiluted" quality why not just go for 2 First-Class teams?

So what? It's officially known as the England and Wales Cricket Board. England = Wales when it comes to international cricket.
And, until 1997 in official terms and since then in unofficial ones, "England" reprisents the whole of The British Isles. The official name of the team is nothing more than a misnomer. The only reason Wales was incorporated into the name of the new (in 1997) Board is that Wales contains a First-Class county, Scotland and Ireland don't. If East Stirlingshire and County Down had played in the Championship, the new Board would've been "The UK and Ireland Cricket Board" or summat.

Anyone from the British Isles, in my book, is "English" in cricketing terms. Because the team doesn't really reprisent solely England.

Where's that map that was posted on here not long ago showing the North, the South and most of England being "part of France"?

PS: Rich, the 1st class tickets haven't arrived yet......(H)

Common sense never hurt anyone Rich :) .

Either way, it'd be the same in a sense for qualifying for those two teams.

If it was in England, it'd be South. Union country, you know.
I see it as the North because it's been heavily ravaged by the effects of the Industrial Revolution and has a massive chip on it's shoulder when dealing with Southerners.

Didn't think you would be the one to have to suffer an apostrophe alert, Matteh, tbh.
