***Official*** India in England

Haha, Dada's reaction when the umpire gave him out. Looks to be a terrible call from Taufel again though.

Laxman needs to step it up a notch here. The current lead is good, but would prefer the lead to be 250+.

Let me expand. I thought taking pot shots at Tendulkar was very poor. Kapil Dev was the person who said that people associated with cricket should up the morale of the team and not target them when Jayawant Lele said that India would lose in Australia 3-0 when Kapil Dev was coach. Now, he comes out regarding Tendulkar in the middle of the tour.

Secondly, cricinfo bringing up 4th inning stats to go into whether Tendulkar is a match winner or not was pretty dire as well. Matches are won more often than not in the first two innings. Tendulkar averages 72, 51 and 50 in the first three innings. How does he fail to be a match winner then? Many players average poor in the last inning including Waugh, Lara. 4th inning score isn't a big criteria to show whether some one is a match winner or not. If any thing, Cricinfo should have written a piece blasting Kapil Dev for being ridiculous this week, first with an out of occassion taking on Tendulkar and second, by speaking out of turn regarding the Indian Cricket League.

Look Pratyush, I can understand you are a big fan of Tendulkar but this exact reaction like yours makes me call tendulkar fans as fanatics. He scores some runs against a decent opposition and you start asking the whole world to shut up in pretty much every thread. You brought this thing the Richards thread as well.

It's not Kapil and Cricinfo that are being ridiculous, but its tendulkar fanatics that ar ebeing ridiculous. Why should Cricinfo Blast Kapil when it knows that he was right on spot esp in last 4-5 years. Who cares what Tendulkar averaged 5 years ago, It doesn't matter.

I had deleted that post immediately in the Richards thread as I thought the topic being discussed was Richards and not Tendulkar. If you notice, I made that post much before this inning even started, not after it. It is nor related to him scoring some runs. I knew you would be agitated that I brought this point again if you had not noticed I had deleted that post 5-10 mins after I had made it.

Cricinfo should write a critical post on Kapil, if they do want to write a critical post on some one, because of taking a pot shot, not because he is right or wrong, particularly when he opposed Lele taking a pot shot at the Indian team. We knew India team was dire when Kapil was coach but still Kapil objected to Lele saying India will lose 3-0 in Australia. Kapil Dev has also criticised people in the past for beng critical of team selections saying media and every one else should encourage the players once the team has been selected. I am never in favor of former players taking pot shots at the team or individual players in the middle of the tour. That means they are just screaming for attention. Saying stuff like this in the middle of a tour, regardless of whether it is true or not, makes no sense. I would have maintained the same view had he said some thing about Ganguly, Laxman or any one else in the middle of the tour. It is not because I am a Tendulkar fan really. I have already said why I felt cricinfo was dire on this occasion.
