Walsh fails dope test

Australian Craig Walsh was today expelled from the Tour after excessive amounts of microprocessor were found in his bloodstream. Walsh, 22, remarked, "that's the last time I let Dickinson cook for me."

Also Inside: Pickup squad down to eight riders...

Craig has caught up with Altoz in what is now a fierce 3-way midfield battle. Haakon closes the gap to only 6 points at the top.

Craig also scored the first stage win by anyone from CW. The previous best was a 2nd place.

Been to the stages, meet Levi Leipheimer's brother and the guy who wears the antlers on his gridiron helmet and in the last few days I've been riding a Col a day and it is tough. Did the Tourmalet on Tuesday and it was brutal. Really it was, it is 2114m above sea level and 20KM of climbing and the last 3km is at 9.5% and is freezing cold up there. I don't condone drug use, but after what I've done and what the pros do, I can't blame some of them for taking drugs just to recover and get through it.

On a lighter note I apparently look similar to Ton Boonen, and this just isn't from people I'm on the tour group with, including random strangers. Could work in Flanders :naughty:

I also have a photo with David Millar at the start in Pau and me running alongside Marcus Burghardt with a T-Mobile flag. Best moment.

Glad you're having a good time Craig. :) Will you post pics of your adventures?
Yeah probably next week.

Hotel to the summit was 30km and it took me two hours! The decieving bit is the ski village of La Mongie and you think you are at the top but still have another 3 or 4km to go .

The decending bit was an experience, had to slow right down for some lambs that were standing next to the road. Caught a car going down, and I wasn't even trying to catch it

After stage 18:

Mathew Mitchell 474 (66th) [38]
Håkon Mørk 466 (93rd) [36]
Neil Pickup 399 (391st) [36]
Manjunath Reddlapalli 388 (420th) [40]
Craig Walsh 358 (488th) [14]
Greg Thomas 315 (561th) [24]
jeff rangers 262 (596th) [14]

With only a TT and a sprint to go in the race the fight is still on for 1st, Neil and Manju are battling it out for the final podium spot whilst Craig dropped out of that battle today despite his stage win yesterday. Greg and Jeff seem secure in their 6th and 7th placings.
