Frankly, he should have been out as soon as it turned out he'd missed 4 tests. If 3 is an automatic fail it shouldn't matter about the different organisations and it's tantermount to playing the system.

Pretty much have done up to 1995 haven't they?

1996 Bjarne Riis - admitted to EPO
1997 Jan Ullrich - discredited but in denial
1998 Marco Pantani - dead from cocaine overdose, failed test after winning Tour
1999-2005 Lance Armstrong - test from first win in 1999 allegedly showed traces of EPO
2006 Floyd Landis - tested positive for testosterone
Yep.

And 1991-95 Indurain was a 76kg monster in the height of EPO use. He did have an insane oxygen uptake, most likely naturally achieved, but it shouldn't be possible to climb that fast with 15kg extra weight; Luis Herrera, Colombian champion climber and sized about a colibri, retired with the following words: "I gave up when I saw riders with huge arses climb like aircraft".

Didn't Indurain have a resting heartbeat in the 30s or something stupid? Think he was one of those people that naturally had the body for it. But again that doesnt rule out the fact he might have wanted some extra help.

Indurain's lung capacity was 8 litres, compared to an average of 6 litres. In addition, Indurain's resting pulse was as low as 29 BPM, compared to a normal human's 60-80 bpm , which meant his heart would be less strained in the tough mountain stages[2]. His VO2 max was 88 ml/kg/min; in comparison, Lance Armstrong's was 82 ml/kg/min.

This is getting utterly ridiculous now, and it's such a shame for Wiggins, as well as all the other innocent riders who've been withdrawn because of the foolishness of one of their teammates. I'm glad that Rasmussen has gone though - as has already been said, he should have been kicked out long ago.

Only 8 points difference and Neil's been slipping back majorly. What works in Neil's favour is that we're back to some sprint finishes, so he may stabilise.
However all my sprinters are broken/retired... I did say my tour was over!

Btw, a British cyclist dominated the third stage of a race in Thuringia today. Won by four and a half minutes and took the lead in the points, mountains and overall classifications.

Her name is Emma Pooley and she kept the more human pace of 33.8 kph during her winning race.

Edit: Congrats to Craig! Stage win!

Australian Craig Walsh was today expelled from the Tour after excessive amounts of microprocessor were found in his bloodstream. Walsh, 22, remarked, "that's the last time I let Dickinson cook for me."
