FFS. Griffin goes for 45 and Burger follows after facing 5 balls. 6/221 in the 39th.

Edit: Gahhh.

46.1 1 Jeithoon to Canning
Canning's worked that nicely between the fielders for a single

End of Over 46: 240-9, runrate=5.22
Muralitharan 8-1-19-3
Canning* 78 (90 balls)
Potgieter 0 (4 balls)
Last Wicket: Erasmus b. Muralitharan 1 (FOW: 239/9)

Cause you know, why wouldn't you take a single off the first ball of the over?

Yep, Potters goes on the 6th ball of that over, all out for 240. I'll need Canning to do something brilliant at the start here, I just hope he's not tired from batting.

I'm up against Rodgie today. I don't have a clue who he is, but I know how well-liked he is on here, so I'll do my best to let him win...

Just logged on and it looks that i will be able to watch the best part of the match, Canning v my batsmen. Should be a decent test. Tulley is officially the worst bowler ever to play for Jets. 10-0-72-0, WTF, his prof on v.defensive.

No wickets but the boys have slowed down a fair bit. Pretty sure Canning comes back now, so this next 10 could decide the match or atleast keep Andy in it.

EDIT: Dire just lost a wicket

Infuriating, isn't it? I had one do that once with not many runs still to chase and only one recognised batsman in, and the commentary had the gall to say "Janes tucks the ball into the gap and runs the easy single. That's good, sensible cricket." Tail-end collapse, loss of match ensues.

It wouldn't even be particularly difficult to alter the chances of taking singles when you've got massively mis-matched batsmen at the crease. Has Allan ever been asked about it in a Q&A?

It's related to experience apparently, so the more experienced a batsman is, the less likely he will be to give the strike to a tailender. That said, I've never really seen a player with higher experience keep the strike (though it's not really something I look at).

Getting a bit annoyed at my game atm. Canning's keeping it tight but not taking any wickets, while the other bowlers have been fairly average. The one wicket we've got was a run out.

This is getting embarrassing. Gonna need one hell of a collapse to win this thing.

All over here. Fernando is ****ing dire, really need a replacement for him. Fair play to Tharmi though, couldn't really match the depth in terms of wicket-taking bowlers.

And that's the end of the match. Jaffna Jets won by 6 wickets.
Magical Ponies 241-10
Jaffna Jets 245-4

End of Over 47: 245-4, runrate=5.21
Fernando 9-0-85-1
Ellis* 49 (30 balls)
6 (4 balls)

Gordon 9-0-62-2
Janes* 10 (7 balls)
Platt 58 (51 balls)

Happy with that win especially the fact that there was no real stand out performances just a good hard team effort. A lot of positives to take into the back end of the season in the league.

Ratings give me a slight edge but they're inflated by Canning, while yours seem more due to depth. Up for a rematch once you're out of this thing?

Slight change in format, if Craig (SP) wins his QF. All 2nd place sides in the groups will qualify for the second round. This will also mean that Adam and Criag have another two weeks off. Nibbs and Mahindinho will have another week off as well.

The format works as follows:
Round 2: 20 Teams: 16 quailfiers, 5-8 seeds
Round 3: 12 Teams: 10 quailfiers, 2-4 seeds
QFs: 8 Teams: 6 quailfers, 1-2 seeds

Craig got his opp 7-105 last update i got.

Yeah i'll be up for that but you probably will have a couple more rounds left by the looks of things.
