The Kevin Ellison deal was a good bit of business for Tranmere. He's a good player at our level, but we've offered far too much.

Look's like Ian Moore could be on his way to Prenton.

We are currently systematically offloading our entire squad to Torquay and there are few signs of replacements on the near horizon. I'm not worried... yet...

What's your take on Glenn Cronin? Came to us last year and was out with a foot injury for most of the season. Played a couple of game's come April/May and looked very physical. What's he like on the ball and knocking it about?

I can't remember as the last time I saw him have a consistent run in the team without being out injured for several weeks/months/ice ages was three years ago plus. Was skipper in 03/04 and we missed him after he did some ligaments at Accrington but he was never the same again. Always got stuck in, and generally did the job of breaking it down for Sheldon/Coppinger to be creative with or waste.

Nice one. Probably get a good look at him this season hopefully if he makes the first eleven. We're a bit short in central midfield at the moment.

Going to Moss v Bodø/Glimt tomorrow.

Need a win after receiving a 0-4-shellacking at Løv-Ham ( ) the other weekend...

Yeah, very good deal for us. Ellison will be okay in League Two, where kicking the ball past the full-back and running as fast as you can is generally acceptable. He got away with it in League One quite a lot, but not enough, and when you have Shuker on the other wing, well, enough said. Good luck to him.

Have all your teams been busy over the summer?
Partick have. Kenny Arthur, Sandy Hodge, Billy Gibson, Brown Ferguson, Sam Morrow, Darren Brady, Allan Russell, Pat Keogh, Stephen McConalogue (:(), Derek Young and John McGoldrick out. Ryan McStay, Mark Twaddle, Craig Hinchcliffe, Liam Buchanan, Scott Chaplain, Gordon Lennon and Stephen Murray in. Plus 6 trialists appeared in the 2-0 win over Falkirk yesterday.

I would say "follow" more than "support", but they're fast becoming my favourite team as I become more and more discontented with English football.

Shouldn't have really included him in there. Feel I've confused you a bit. Was on loan. Gone back to Hibs now. Scored 1 in 8.

Mansfield made Alex-John Baptiste sign a new contact, wahey. The 300k we were going to get for him going to Crewe would have been sweet, but that fell through and we get to keep a quality player.

How come they were able to charge a fee when he was out of contract?

Because we've had him since he was a trainee and because he's only 23, the bosman rule has a part to it that allows smaller clubs to receive money for hot young players in order that they don't lose them for nothing after developing them for years.
