In defence of Glenn Chapple there, he's a bloomin good one day bowler, always been consistent at county level (though his stats for his season arnt to hot to say the least), who can hold more than his own with the bat (scored a couple of 50's opening for us). Had his chance at ODI cricket cut by injury, so the selectors might see this as a chance to show himself against international class batsmen.
Ok thats all in 50 over games, but he's been the mainstay in the international 6's team for years.
His lack of domestic 20/20 games is due to the number of up and coming seamers we have. Why make your main bowler play in a competition that the county dont rate that highley when you can blood the youngsters? I'm sure the rest does him good.
He's very much like Mascarenhas, been a fantastic OD player for a decade, someone you know can go in at no 8 and either score freely or steady the ship. He deserves the chance.
