Rossi is uproven in the Premiership for sure but he looks to be able to make the step up.
tbh his spell with newcastle and his previous performances have done little to suggest that is the case.

Agreed there. Quite a big gamble by Keane and it looks like a waste of money. 1m at most and 4mil for Nugent based on potential.
tbh i dont think you can really say that, how it looks like its a waste of money without him even playing a game is beyond me....

a lot of money for such a player? certainly, but you cant possibly suggest its a waste at this point.

What if Drogba goes down then? Utd still have people capable of putting in the goals if one/both of Rooney and Ronaldo got injured.
you seem to have forgotten that it wasnt so long ago that lampard, joe cole and robben were scoring an awful lot.

If he'd cost less then it wouldn't be a waste. But Keane wasted 4 mil pounds on him.

He looked ok in some games at Newcastle and not so good in others. I'll put that down to Roeder's ineptitude though as he never got a decent run.

Yes pretty much. Paid too much over the odds. I know there's a premium on English talent but...
HAHA, so £5m is too much to pay for a striker who scores more than 20 league goals a season?!?! deary me what logic have you used to work that out, cleary Henry, Van Nistelrooy and Shearer were all massively overpriced buy £10m + each then...

Warped logic yes, but based on Chopra's abilities at present it'd be fair to say so.

I wouldn't class it as excellent but close to that. Still can't see them as favourites especially with Man Utd signing Tevez( hopefully a loan). Also Man Utd have shored up their weaknesses while Chelsea still have questions in their attacking line as it concerns Shevchenko, Kalou and how Pizarro will fare. He'll do a good job of adapting but I have a question mark over his quality. He should do better than Sheva and Kalou did last time out but that's not particularly hard to do.
Kalou did a fine job last year and he won a few very important games for Chelsea last year with late goals. Suggesting he had a poor year would be slightly erroneous considering the opportunities he had he usually took.

I laughed at the Chopra fee. Basically completely useless in the Prem when he was with Newcastle, had a good season with Cardiff last season and all of a sudden he's a 5m player, pffft.

Same thing has happened with Fulham, who signed Diomansy Kamara. A player who did not set the Premiership alight in over two years but one good season in the Championship with WBA and now his worth £6 million. It's a joke, although, I actually think Kamara isn't that awful, his not as Bryan Robson once said the new Thierry Henry (with the proviso if he could finish) but his decent.

And David Nugent = Meh. I'll still take a 35 year old Andy Cole over him.

He's very steady, but wouldn't get a run at one of the bigger clubs for mine. Decent touch & good in the air but seriously lacks pace and can get exposed by this on occasions.

Can't believe he earns more than the ABs sqaud put together tho; that's seriously messed up.
But typically we do not play a high line so he usually doesn't get exposed and the signing of Chris Samba has made Nelsen’s job a little bit easier, for now the defence has a guy with genuine pace.

Also Nelsen > Senderos and Agger.

Playing somewhere in France by last report.
Olympique Lyonnais. A club who is a member of the G14 and has produced over the past five years some of Europe's best players, they are not some ****ty club in France, as your throwaway line would suggest.
