JASON

Cricketer Of The Year
Ted Dexter. James Callaghan. 1964 elections. Cardiff
Yes, Tapi on the money as always...:)

Ted Dexter challenged as Tory candidate and stood against James Callaghan in 1964 election. Unfortunately he lost. Had he won , James Callaghan's Political career would've ended there and as it happens he became Prime Minister 2 elections later IIRC , but like all Labour Prime Ministers before Blair only served 1 term before getting booted out of office by a Lady with an Iron Fist known simply as Maggie Thatcher !!

Tapi's turn to ask next question .:)
Don't disappoint us.

Shamelessly copied from an orkut quiz group -

In the 1983 world cup, India and Pakistan both had a player with the same surname. Who were they ?

JASON

Cricketer Of The Year
Zaheer Abbas Kirmani and Syed Mohammed Kirmani

(I admit to looking up Pakistan players at World Cup to find Zaheer's full name)

And as punishment JB MAC will ask next question instead of me.

Well here you go.
Between the years 1883 and 1981 there are two occasions where there has been eleven bowlers used in a Test Match.
1. Who played them
2. Who used the 11
3. Where were they played.

The second occasion was an Australia vs Pakistan match if I remember correctly....unless that was after 1981?

Well, I gave to archie mac for a vague answer so I guess I have to give you this one.You are correct.Australia used 11 bowlers against Pakistan at Faisilabad in the 1979/80 series after Pakistan had scored 2/382.

It's now up to you.

OK, here we go.

This Test (England vs Australia, Edgbaston, 1981) came very close to breaking a First Class record. What is that record?
