Bell in doubt for Twenty20 clash.

Would say "oh dear" (if I cared about Twenty20 obviously) but... why on Earth would anyone seriously pick Bell for a Twenty20 game?

England selectors are clearly going to live in the dark ages even more when it comes to differentiating between Twenty20 Ints and ODIs than they have with Tests and ODIs.

I probably would pick Bell for a Twenty20 game, actually - simply because I think the result is of no consequence. Giving him a run in a limited overs game against an opposition he's just about to come up against would be somewhat beneficial, even if only marginally.

Not sure. Can only see him getting pilloried for not scoring quickly enough, myself (and obviously I suspect should he make an attempt to match the required rate he'd not last long) and I don't think that'll do him any good. I won't care if it damages our chances in the two games, obviously, but some people presumably will (not that I'd imagine many will remember what happened in them for long).

I've never been totally sure about him as a ODI player, either, TBH.

Chances are though that Bell will be working on a few shots that he'd like to take into his ODI game, and here's a chance to back himself to pull them off when he won't be given a bake for going out looking a bit silly.

I guess he should try to copy Watto's scoop shot  , but seriously i don't rate Bell as an odi player in the first place (because of his limited innovation in odi cricket) but to even considering him as a Twenty20 player is dire.

West Indies Destroyin PCA MAsters in 2020 warm up. Gayle blasting himself back into form. Think he let a bit of anger out against them bowlers after the WICB reprimanded him..lol. Samuels batted and bowling well.

Nah. 8 bowlers, but no Mahmood near.

TBH, this game was nothing more than a hit in the park. Deserving of no more than three paragraphs, and no main headline or recent-scores addition.

Would have felt dirty giving it such, TBH.

Maybe. If so, that only serves to illustrate that the games are being treated as no more than warm-ups for the ODIs (and I can't say I have any worries if so).

If anyone was seriously concerned about the outcome, though, surely he'd not be picked?

One more thing after Sidebottom's great performances in the test matches he has now took 16 wickets at an average of 21.19.
Could go the same way as Kirtley 13 wickets at 19.92 and off to Sri Lanka and 6 wickets at 50.33.

or

Richard Johnson 15 wickets at 12.86 and of to Sri Lanka and 1 wicket at 82.00.
