Hate Samit Patel. Fat ****.
Indeed. Good bit of fielding from Stuart Law though...:)

Kent’s game against Essex was a fairly ill-tempered affair. The Kent fans were booing even after they won the game - reasoning being that they thought the umpires had short changed them and that Essex’s five over dash in beautiful sunlight was taking the piss somewhat.

Although, excellent figures from Ryan McLaren given the game situation, two for three.

Can't really see how any game of cricket can be decided over five overs. Surely even Duckworth/Lewis can't work over such a short time?

Yeah, absolutely farcical imo, but given that Kent won and I didn't pay to watch it, I'll keep quiet

McLaren's made a really good start in the 20:20 (apparently the catch he pulled off on the last ball of Hampshire's innings yesterday which secured the tie was pretty sensational), which is encouraging, given that he hasn't exactly performed out of his skin with bat or ball in the championship or the FP trophy thus far. Hopefully the 20:20 competition will give him the momentum he needs to start performing on a consistent basis.

What a piss-poor excuse for a game of cricket between Kent and Essex, I'm not just saying that because my team lost either. To have a game decided after 5 overs in each innings is absolutely ridiculous, it really is.

No I totally agree, and a lot of Kent fans are up in arms about it, even though we won. A game of cricket can't be decided over 5 overs each, it's laughable. Totally sympathise with you Perm, I'd have been properly hacked off if it had finished the other way round. As it is, I'm quietly happy with 2 points, but shaking my head at the farcical nature of the game.

5 overs to chase 50 gave Essex a huge advantage really - but they still managed to **** it up. Kent earned their victory whatever because of that advantage, if Essex had won it would have been unfair.

But yea the rules are stupid, the game should be allowed to play later with refunds available for those that have to leave at the originally scheduled finish time. That would be the best situation for everyone.

I wish I could see Somerset's match, Afzaal hit 32 off Caddick's third over, 2 4s and 4 6s.

Caddick's chuntering must be classic.

Glos did well tonight was a great match apart from the fact it rained all through the 20 overs played. Gidders is a legend as is Hamish Marshall. Also Greenidge is maturing (rather late) as a bowler. Not sure if the speed gun was right but he clocked high 80's (88mph) a couple of times, I hadn't realised he was capable of that sort of pace. Wind was coming side on so not much help there. I know this match isn't much to judge him on as it's a just a twenty20 game but he has done well for himself recently with all the injuries to the squad, not least in the last over against Northants at Gloucester.

Yeah it was a good win for Gloucestershire because it went right down to the final ball last year and Gloucestershire finally winning by 1 run. I personally thought that 101 was a decent score of 10 overs in a rainy evening. Hick once again showing his class with 32 of only 15 balls. Gloucestershire then made light work of the 101 set by Worcestershire passing it after only 8.4 overs with 34 from Gidman and 28 from Marshall. An excellent win for Gloucestershire keeping them in the twenty20 cup because a lose would most probably sealed an exit out of the cup.

Kent have posted an unusually good total for them of 181-3 against Sussex. All five batsmen maintained a SR of over 100, and Key continued his good start to the 20:20 season with 62 from 46 balls
