He only has 2 less than Harmy and 1 less than Hoggy.Monty now has more 5 wicket hauls in tests than Gilo - kind of makes a mockery of Giles being given the nod at the beginning of the last Ashes series doesn't it?
Sir Viv on TMS was genuinely apoplectic at Powell's dismissal, "He's a man without a head." Sounded like nothing so much as an Antiguan Geoffrey Boycott, as indeed Blowers remarked.Powell should get dropped for these batting efforts, even if he takes 8 wickets in the second innings, IMO. It's not just that he's dire - because he actually isnt - he just bats like an idiot.
Haha, its why the criticism of him from a certain someone is so stupid. That's an amazing record so early. He only has 2 less than Harmy and 1 less than Hoggy.
Tis rather surprising that.Strauss the fastest ever, in terms of time elapsed from debut rather than matches played, to 3000 test runs. Apparently.

No for me. I'd much rather Powell and Edwards before Collymore first innings effort or not. If he starts doing that sort of stuff consistently then a promotion may be in order. Why did Collymore come in at number 11 again, despite his first innings effort? Definitely should have come in before Powell and Edwards, IMO.
Rubbish. He's at least third. Hedley Verity had 70 after 16 (at 19.57, no less!).Panasar is also 2nd, only behind Underwood for amount of wickets taken by an English spinner after their first 16 tests.
Only 2nd? we should drop him asap!¬
Tis rather surprising that.
Oh yeah. Guess whose record he beat? If TMS were telling me the truth.Just shows the sheer amount of cricket being played
Hmm, a totally random guess, but Bradman.Oh yeah. Guess whose record he beat? If TMS were telling me the truth.
