Well we were talking about four world class Test batsman from India, so Gayle doesn't really fit that for description for two reasons.

a) He isn't Indian
b) He isn't a world class Test batsman

The possibility of Shiv being stranded before getting his ton makes me think back to the Perth Test when Boycott was left on 99 NO. Oh to be a fly on the wall and hear what "Sir" Geoffrey said to Bob Willis (the man who was last out) in the dressing room.
