New Cricket Trivia - 'SJS format'

Q10 Is it a player taking a catch for the opposition?
No. Its more personal loss than that... :)

Hint - at Q10 Its quite clear already - the Individual concerned is not a Subcontinental, English/West Indian and not Australian. The record holder who holds the record to be envious of, is Australian. The Individual concerned(at the Centre of this question) has a sort of Batting record of Unfortunate proportions...unlikely the fate that befell him would happen to anyone else.

The record is again unbeatable and the record holder's achievement unlikely to be bettered.:) (very unlikely to be even equalled....a near impossibility...:) )

Matthews double hat-trick
I thought about that but why should it be near impossible to equal ? Akram came pretty close.

Ward was the third man dismissed in both hat-tricks and those were the first two balls that he faced in Test cricket. (When Ken Rutherford collected a pair on debut, he was run out without facing a ball in one innings. Had scored a first ball duck in the other innings (he faced 8 balls, actually), he could have done better than Ward )

I will give it to you .

The individual at the Centre of the question is South African TA Ward. His Unfortunate record -he was dismissed for a King Pair (2 x First ball ducks) within the same Day.

Now any body would admit that its a near impossibility to be dismissed twice in the same day for a King Pair !!

Also Jimmy Mathews took 2 hat tricks in the same day of which Ward was the 3rd batsmen on both occasions. Its a near impossibility to contemplate anyone ever even getting 3 hattricks in Test Cricket in the same day !! :) Even 2 hat tricks in the same day is unthinkable , IMO. Therefore it will be a record that will remain Unbeatable.

Rutherford wasn't dismissed twice in the same day on Test debut . That's the difference.

Also I think they were the only wickets he took for the whole match:)

Will post question later, unless someone else would like a turn:)

Okay an easy one

What thing did one of the Aussies achieve in one of the Tests in 1921 that would have made Lord Hawke a little annoyed?

Name the thing and the player?

I can see where you are going with that Mr Peel, but no:)
To let others in on this: "His treatment of a drunken Bobby Peel has gone into the game's folklore - he ******ed him off the field and, as Peel himself sarcastically noted: "Lord Hawke put his arm round me and helped me off the ground - and out of first-class cricket. What a gentleman!" "

Is it to do with a cricketing record held by Lord Hawke, archie?...(this is a long shot btw)
