***Official** West Indies in England***

Of course he will, but with this rampant "success" comes rampant expectations.

And as I was saying, he failed against the best. Averaged 20 or something terrible. It's not hard to look great when you're knocking around pitiful Indian and West Indian attacks. The only time he's really been tested he's failed. And let's not forget his immense luck in this series so far. Sure luck is a part of cricket, but it will run out eventually...

I just feel the English media will put far too much pressure on him and it'll be another case of massive wasted talent. I do enjoy Cook's batting but I just hope people realise that it's not all going to be roses, particularly given his record against bowling of a higher standard.
He has made some clear changes to his technique since that tour, and I think he will fair a lot better second time round.

Ian Bell cannot be happy that the two best balls came is way. Still... his second innings performances didnt leave me with much expectations.

I say declare at next FOW.

We'll see. This England team seems to be notorious for having great starts to the career only to be found out a bit later. I'm talking Bell, Strauss...happened to Cook in Aus...will eventually happen to Pietersen.

Yeah nothing here till tomorrow, listening on BBC website.

sideshowtim, you have a fair bit in common with BLE at times, it must be said. Cook's a gun and if he was playing for Australia, no doubt you'd be singing his praises from here till tomorrow.
If he was Australian he wouldn't be playing test cricket yet.

And Prior's gone!

Bell gone. He's got about two of the best balls bowled by the Windies.
Obviously haven't seen this one, but the first innings wasn't that great, he'd had 2-3 balls doing the same and he'd half managed to leave some of them. He went searching for the ball and he got it.

Well that's woken things up. Can he do it..............?

Presume he'd be first hat-tick on debut?

Oooo, close but no cigar. Good stuff from Sammy tho. :)

Plunkers plays and misses. Always think you should bowl your hat-trick ball straight though.
