***Official** South Africa v India in Ireland

i honestly feel Badrinath is a better cricketer in the longer version than Tiwari
The fact that Badrinath still hasn't made his debut is ridiculous. Kaif, Tiwary and Badrinath should all get an opportunity with the ****load of ODIs on India's plate.

Tiwary is injured and the other two just need to impress in the Batsman's camp to get a pick for one of the ODIs.

Looks likes Irelands first really step into cricket business and politics and they may get burned.

If they end up cutting ties with England for this Tournament and then it fails to go ahead they will have lost massively.

I understand why they have done what they did and agree with them trying to strike it alone but for christs sake they have left their financial wellbeing in the hands of the BCCI and look like they will get royally shafted.

A real shame if it doesnt happen as Irish cricket took what didnt appear to be any sort of gamble and have lost out across the board. ie the $600 000 for hosting this and the loss of cricket and revenues from being in ECB tournaments

If I was part of Irish cricket Id be very angry right now.

Playing cricket on that ground on saturday, cant wait its such a ground :) Was trying to get tickets to go but my dad wouldnt give me the money, and my cricket club wouldn't arrange a party of people to go up to watch. Tis a shame tbh.

Looking forward to seeing JP Duminy and Morne van Wyk, two rising stars of South African cricket.

Vernon Philander has just recently recovered from a stress fracture of the back so presumably his bowling is not what ‘clinched’ selection. Pollock as Cricinfo’s article observed isn’t traveling for he can not bowl but I would have probably selected him affront of Kemp as simply a straight forward batting number six/seven but best to give him a break I guess.

I’m slightly disappointed van der Wath isn’t in the squad but I believe his currently on the treatment table so the extent of his injury maybe the reasoning for his non-selection.

However, the real encouraging news is that Ashwell Prince, Loots Bosman and Robbie P are no where to be seen and that JP and Mornè van Wyk will have at least a couple of games to impress, especially van Wyk who will I assume open for South Africa instead of Smith.

JP use to be very easy on the eyes, although, I’ve heard his brought back his game somewhat but he should be far more pleasing to watch than say Ashwell Prince but then again Ashwell use to be very good on the eye, Lara like through the covers.

But van Wyk should be good fun to watch, has dominated domestic South African cricket for a while and South Africa may have a selection problematic if he score runs opening. Be great if he does well, sounds a good guy from all reports whose shown tremendous commitment to South African cricket over the years.

Indeed, both of these players have pretty good records I think so it will be interesting to see if they can make a decent start to their international careers, even though they've had a couple of games already. I'd really like to see JP Duminy coming into the ODI side in favour of Ashwell Prince. Is Duminy coloured?
