 Speaks the Mod.
I have two degrees. One of them is not 'Bachelor of the in-and-outs of the Cricketweb Forums'.

Don't see the need tbh. What do I care when people see I'm online?

If I'm not posting I'm trying to win back my Kaboom arcade record...:@

Don't use it, though perhaps I should as I tend to leave CW open all day without actually being here a lot of the time. Not too bad at a forum of this size, but at smaller ones people think you're ignoring them

Who uses it? And if you do, why? :dontgetit

A few I know do are Voltman, Pete (PY), Manju (altoz), Fiery, Perm, Gelman (pasag), SJS, Tharmi (chaminda_00) and Collins.

I've also thought Dasa and TT_Boy (and maybe even Marc and Halz) have started to recently?

(Sorry about the lack of a Dasa in the poll, BTW - thought this was a bit too serious)

Have explained in the past why I use it and I really can't be bothered explaining it again.

And, as so many other people on this thread have said, who cares?

I don't use it, but when I'm at work I'm occasionally one of the guests that shows up as I'm not usually logged on there.

But meh, non-issue for mine.

If your work is going down the TAB and making money from Sports fixed odds bets, then you could take your laptop down and connect wireless

If, however, like me, you keep picking the Warriors, the Hurricanes and the New Zealand Knights, you need to speak to the Problem Gambling Society and connect to the internet at work.

A better question would be how you manage to notice, Richard. Given how frequently you post when you're online, I don't see how on earth you could squeeze in checking the "Who is online" list regularly, much less do so often enough to notice when someone who isn't on it is posting. I'm not having a go at you here - I'm legitimately wondering if there are other such ways of finding out.
I noticed that Fiery must be in invisible mode as his 'green light' is never on even when he replies almost instantaneously to anyone elses message. It stands out a mile really. Not that it matters, I couldn't care less.
What HDS said, TBH (and applies to all posters I named), it's to do with the green light, not the Who's Online page.

It doesn't matter especially, BTW - I'm not fussed either way, it's just a question because, with odd exceptions that I knew about before this thread, I'm amazed people would bother to turn it on.

Nah, we have to do it quietly. ;)
Management have the power to see what websites we've accessed. There used to be a thing that as long as you didn't type the address in the address section, but went through google instead, you couldn't be traced. However, now they've upgraded the software to show every site you go to.

If my boss is reading this, I am making my first ever post during work hours.

If he isn't, then I'd say my split would be about 50/50 too...
