tell me guys what is the easiest way to stay ontop of the pops......do you write em all down and then watch or what i am so novice at this.

should i sist there and make up a spread sheet and follow there progress, and when do they pop once a week or after your cup and one day games....
I used to try just copying and pasting my squad list into a spreadsheet (well first onto a notepad document, then onto excel to remove the bad formatting). But now, I just keep track of the players I'm training by memory. You're generally only training five-six players tops and you'd normally be looking at two or three skills of that player to improve (maybe stamina, primary and related secondary). So I just go off memory. And, like you, I had trouble using those tools, they just didn't seem to work for me. Also, posting my pops here means that, if I'm not sure if a players' skill is new, I can check it with what he was like a few weeks ago.

As for when they pop, training updates occur every Monday (in Australia, that is) at 0:30 BT time, which translates to 9:30 am Sydney time (though it goes out to 11:30 with daylight savings).

I go by memory as well, easiest thing to do though would just be to post your trainees here every week (or whenever they pop), saves the need for spreadsheets etc.

Maybe try Batman? It's a java based one, with an interface and stuff.
I was using the spreadsheet for a while, until it stuffed up...

If you can't figure out how to use Batman, I just did my best at creating step by step instructions on the Stick Sports forums, that I'll paste here.

Code:
1. Install Batman
2. Open Batman
3. Go to Tools > Settings, and change "Current Season Number" to '7'.
4. Go to HTML Import > Import Pavilion HTML
5. Now this is the tricky part, it depends on what internet browser your using;
[list]Firefox - Firstly log in. Then go to Club > Pavilion. Right click anywhere inside the box (the one with General Manager, Country, League etc.), go to This Frame and then View Frame Source. Select All (either by right click > select all, or CTRL + A) and then Copy (CTRL + C or right click > copy). Now go back to Batman and paste the information in the HTML import box. Do the same for Squad (Right click box with list of players) and Nets (Right click the box with list of drop down menu for nets).

Internet Explorer - Firstly log in. Then go to Club > Pavilion. Right click anywhere inside the box (the one with General Manager, Country, League etc.), go to View Source.

Best I can do for explaining it.

Each week you repeat step 5, for nets and squad. Stats that have improved are in green, the stats that have dropped are in red.

I've tried Batman but it won't work for me at the moment, as I signed up in the close season after the team I took over had been knocked out of 20:20, and so importing my pavilion page in doesn't help. I just have a spreadsheet on Excel at the moment

Downer would've popped last week but removed his net somehow. Watkins' bowling should pop next week or so, seam attack is starting to look pretty decent.

well, i have an 800k bid on my youth pull which is awesome. so by the next financial update i will have at least 2.6mil in the bank. for round 3 of the cup, surprisingly we drew another bot. round 5 is traditionally the point where the new zealand cup starts to heat up. i really need to win saturday's league match, or the season and the dreams that began with it will probably go up in smoke.

in other news, two pops this morning.

The fielding nets are kinda a waste of time on those players, unless you rate fielding itself. I wouldn't bother training Fox either. That'll leave you four nets to use on trainees.

You'll Never Walk Alone
Thought I`d do a quick review of how I`ve gone since I started managing Brackenhurst.

Overall: Played 39 - Won 18 - Lost 21
One-Day: Played 16 - Won 6 - Lost 10
Friendly: Played 19 - Won 11 - Lost 8
BT20: Played 3 - Won 1 - Lost 2
Cup: Played 1 - Won 0 - Lost 1

Not too bad. I`m on over my head for the OD League and have stood up pretty well IMO. Friendly record not amazing. Hopefully this season will see some change.

Season ahead -
We should be aiming for 5th place. Although this will require no slip-ups, it remains a realistic goal. Our batting is definately our strength. With CW U-19 hopeful Hamlin alongside proved performers Read, Abbey and Hindle, not to mention star 17 year-old Burnip, we should be hitting high totals every week. Our bowling is of concern. Holmes and Hindle are the spinning rocks of the side, but Ballard, Lake and Wright are too patchy. Trainee Smart (Res-Med-Comp) is not playing One-Day Matches yet due to inexperience, but if one of the aforementioned three doesn`t lift soon, there won`t be much choice.

BREAKING NEWS -
Brackenhurst have signed seventeen year-old medium-pacer Lalitaditya Singh (Comp-Comp-Res) for £200 000. Rumours that he will replace one of Lake or Ballard are going around faster than that rollercoaster from Final Destination 3.

Double-pop on Sandwith -- Sensational batting and Sensational conc :)

He's 23 now, so I'll just leave him hanging around on one batting net. If at all.

Other than that, just one conc pop on my trainee WK/bat -- his batting's now Prof/Mediocre.

I managed to sell Verma for £4,750,000 in the end -- not bad for Prof/Med bat and Qual/Strong bowl. I've only got 4 bowlers now...and can't see much on the market...
