Why do you say I've been overly realistic? You think it unlikely that I'll be making the first eleven with those stats? My strike rate compares not too badly with Curtly Ambrose I'll have you know. And my batting is quite ****e.

Depends a bit on the player, obviously. There's no hard and fast rules simply because most players have retired before it's an issue. Malone's 38, btw.

Hey mate - fellow NZTailender and all, test cricket is of a higher standard. I put in my averages from when I played as one of and against the best in the world. Going back to First Class after that, well, it wasn't quite the same - i'll put it like that.

A captain of a team actually has to say they want you first (and there's an order on which team can sign, too). Blue had first choice but their captain hasn't said anything yet, so I suppose it's Green's turn.

It's likely that you will play a fair bit in grade cricket, though, so check out http://forum.cricketweb.net/showthread.php?t=23512&page=23 - you'll be assigned a grade team pretty soon.

Didn't realise I was second or third oldest around here. Hmm. When I retire, I'm going to come back again... in Junior form. Much like Malone did, really.
