I would , because he opens in ODIs and I value him more than any other openers around ATM (on current form) including Sehwag, Smith, De Villiers etc.You would have Stephen Fleming opening in a World Test XI?
Fair enough Jason. It's your team so you can pick whoever you likeI would , because he opens in ODIs and I value him more than any other openers around ATM (on current form) including Sehwag, Smith, De Villiers etc.
Seconded. Even if you didn't want him in your middle order for some reason, I'd back him to be a better opener than Cook or Hayden anyway.Surprised at the lack of Dravid.
how about Asif for ClarkHayden
Cook
Ponting
Kallis
KP
Youssuf
Gilchrist
Flintoff
Clark
Bond
Murali
Kallis is enough of a fifth bowling option for me. If the keeper had to play in the top 6, I'd pick Kumar, but if he can come in at 7, behind that top 6, I'll take Gilly still... especially with Freddie at 8.
Nah, I'll take Clark thank you.how about Asif for Clark
I think it's fine to factor in OD form when selecting a test side. In any case, Bond's test record is good enough to demand a place in the side...he's ranked 5 in the world in testsBond seems to be making the Test sides on his ODI/WC form. .
I think you can sometimes factor in the selection of a certain player to a countries side into another format when they're doing great in the other one, selectors would be silly to neglect the form, but that's where any connection ends imo. They're completely different formats and Bond playing just two Tests since his comeback (albeit doing very well in the first one) means he shouldn't be near a world XI, imo. Especially since Ntini, Asif and Clark have been outstanding in recent times, imo.I think it's fine to factor in OD form when selecting a test side. "shouldn't be near a world XI"? We all know what he's capable of, he's fit and firing as we saw in the World cup so have to disagree with you on this pasag. He's more dangerous than all 3 of the bowlers you mentioned above imo.I think you can sometimes factor in the selection of a certain player to a countries side into another format when they're doing great in the other one, selectors would be silly to neglect the form, but that's where any connection ends imo.
