Do people in Sydney not care about rugby league anymore?

The crowds are nothing short of a disgrace. Yes I know there are plenty of teams in Sydney, but still it is pathetic, I mean approx 6500 people for an NRL game? A joke.

Melbourne are now getting decent crowds considering the size of the stadium, and at least on Monday night it doesn't clash with a Collingwood or Essendon game at the MCG, in which case they don't have a chance in hell.
Sydney sports fans in general are always about successful sides, if a team not winning your not going to get crowds, simple as. Dragons have been crap for most of the season, so its not surprising their crowds are that low. Manly on the other hand get sell out crowds pretty much for every game these days. But if we lose 5 straight, they will be back to low 10k.

So in other words, glory hunters?

Heard the tail end of a news report before, from what i gathered Todd Carney was in trouble with the police or something. Can anyone deny/confirm?
confirmed, he had been suspended from driving for 5 years for drink-driving in march IIRC and was caught driving and sent cops for a chase through suburbs of Canberra. He got to a dead-end and ran on foot, surrendered himself later I think. Not sure what the outcome was

Yeah just heard that on the radio before. Wouldn't at all be suprised to see him serve a jail term itbt (actually, hope he does), especially seeing as from what i remember about his last offence, he was desperately close to serving a short sentence. Warren Ryan was talking about it saying that as bad as it may sound, a jail term might actually be the best possible outcome.

I entirely agree with what he was saying as well, and that was that so many of the players consider themselves to be above the law, and that during his coaching career he's seen quite a few incidents where the NRL or Clubs do nothing about it, and basically sweep it all under the carpet.

its hard to say what exactly his punishment should be given it hasnt been released what exactly he has done. His first offence was based around doing burnouts and drink driving last year, as bad as it sounds for him this time all's we know is that he was driving without a licence...

he's been charged with Reckless driving, failing to stop as per police directions (or something like that), and driving with a suspended license.

Well (Todd Carney) should go directly to jail, don't pass go and don't collect $200.

He won't go to jail though. And if he does it be like Naiqama's one.

Melbourne beat the Roosters 26-2 at OP.

Will Chambers looked very solid on debut, although I'm not sure about him and Cronk's celebration when Chambers scored (for BB and steds, Chambers gave a subtle peck on Cronk's cheek), and good games for James Aubusson, Jeff Lima and Ben Cross. Though credit must go to Craig Fitzgibbon making a staggering 47 tackles

That said I think Gavin Badger needs to learn what is a dangerous throw is, because two instances in the 22nd and 56th minute there was a dangerous throw on Slater and Cross and no penalty was given. Even if it wasn't, it was above the horizontal, which is a penalty anyway.

Not a lot of options unless you want to support an Aussie team in the NRL....please don't tell me you support an Aussie team in the NRL Perm?
Cowboys and Broncos. Probably will support the Titans when they get a bit more homegrown talent. I'm a Queensland fan mate :p

That's what you get when you support the Warriors.
The same Warriors that are way ahead of the Broncos and Titans currently? I rate the Warriors - they just need to get rid of some of the rubbish and figure out what their best 17 is. Too much chopping and changing every week and it's often the wrong players they axe.
