I'd be hugely surprised to see Tres play test cricket this summer though. Rightly or wrongly, I think Rob Key would be likelier to appear if Vaughan & Strauss both got crocked.Perm's got it.

Not sure. I'd love him to get a go in the middle-order, but he's never been an opener all his life - just someone oddly decided to give him the role in ODIs.Thats debateable, I reckon he could do an adeqaute job opening in tests. Only against lesser nations though.
The whole summer? Serious? I'd be surprised if he didn't play at some point, TBH.I'd be hugely surprised to see Tres play test cricket this summer though. Rightly or wrongly, I think Rob Key would be likelier to appear if Vaughan & Strauss both got crocked.
*Watches him get out next over and sees P get the Greigy*Obviously we can never say regarding such things but Cook has a very good opportunity to score some thing big in this game.
I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the odious side. Barring at least 2 openers being injured, I wouldn't expect to see him in the test side. Even then, he'll need to have decided he can tour again, which I don't think will happen. The whole summer? Serious? I'd be surprised if he (Tres) didn't play at some point, TBH.
Fair comment. I was only basing it on his form against Durham, which, if he keeps it up, means he wouldn't be the worst selction for a one-off situation. Big "if", I know. But I don't know who the alternatives would be.Don't want to see Key anywhere near the side while his form's like it has been the last 2 seasons.
The Marsh-Lillee.To be fair, I should have won the *whatever it is called for predicting it right* during the world cup for predicting. See the semi final thread in the world cup thread..
Which, if I dig it up, I said in this thread earlier before the series about Cook in comparison to Kallis. If you bowl crap to him, he'll score quickly. I was laughed at by whichever member it was and told that Cook would score at a strike rate of around 40 regardless of how badly you bowled to him. I should really dig it up I suppose, instead of just quoting this and ripping into the wrong person.Exactly - even slow players will score quickly if the bowling's bad enough.
True. BTW, you're in with a decent shot for a Skull with that "odious"!I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the odious side. Mark Butcher...Fair comment. I was only basing it on his form against Durham, which, if he keeps it up, means he wouldn't be the worst selction for a one-off situation. Big "if", I know. But I don't know who the alternatives would be.
I remember it very well. If you remember, I argued roughly the same thing.Which, if I dig it up, I said in this thread earlier before the series about Cook in comparison to Kallis. We'd probably just see Bell open with Cook, Shah bat 3 and Flintoff bat 6, I'd imagine.I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the odious side. It's rare not to see her at Lord's at some point in a summer. Which Test varies.HRM is present. Is this very common?
I see, first time I've seen her. It's rare not to see her at Lord's at some point in a summer. Which Test varies.
