There's the first all-run four of the season - maybe Cook can take Strauss' place?Bog standard Strauss innings nowadays, giving it away after getting a start.

Ahh. I didn't actually enter a date - I just selected "last 20 tests" - which is why I felt it coincidental that we had both done so.They undoubtedly were, that's just the point - one period ended and another started there.
I just picked the time when his figures started to improve, as I always do with demonstrations of "he's improved", TBH.Ahh. I didn't actually enter a date - I just selected "last 20 tests" - which is why I felt it coincidental that we had both done so.
I certainly am, bugger staying up this late and relying on cricinfo and this thread for commentary. They said that he had quite a bottom handed grip, is it as 'bad' as Jayasuriya's? It doesn't look that unusual, though TBF he hasn't played a proper stroke yet. It's unusual, certainly. Kinda hard to describe in words, though. Are you watching?
The grip doesn't actually take me as odd as the backlift, ITBT....I certainly am, bugger staying up this late and relying on cricinfo and this thread for commentary. Haha, nooooo, nowhere near Jayasuriya standard, but definately more bottom-handed than most.I certainly am, bugger staying up this late and relying on cricinfo and this thread for commentary. His backlift is indeed strange, too, though Cook's is hardly conventional (you can undoubtedly see the Gooch influence there). The grip doesn't actually take me as odd as the backlift, ITBT....
Cook has quite a high backlift, I have just been noticing that. Not as noticably high as Lara's *sob* but still quite high. His backlift is indeed strange, too, though Cook's is hardly conventional (you can undoubtedly see the Gooch influence there).
Oh okay, the way the commentators were talking about it sounded as though he didn't have a top hand.Haha, nooooo, nowhere near Jayasuriya standard, but definately more bottom-handed than most.
Given how even I think Strauss, Bell, Cook and Collingwood actually are, I'd probably just drop the worst performed of the match (out of that bunch) if Shah got a ton. Unless of course they all scored well, in which case I'd drop Shah. Leaving Vaughan out isn't really an option, given the fact that he's captain.I'm getting sick of the commentators going on about Bell batting down at #6, he has had success there in the past FFS, he hasn't been "demoted" or whatever. If Shah does score a ton, then I'd drop Collingwood or just leave Vaughan out.
It's the way he goes up, down and back up that's odd, and the jerkiness of it - it's very Goochesque. Lara had the huge jump and the massive backlift, but at least it was all one motion.Cook has quite a high backlift, I have just been noticing that. Haha, well he's certainly just played two of the oddest leaves you'll ever see, even Pietersen inclusive.Oh okay, the way the commentators were talking about it sounded as though he didn't have a top hand.
Shah get's one in the swede from the fielder, looked quite nasty.
If Collingwood, Bell and Shah all score 80-odd each then I don't see why they'd bring Vaughan back in, except for Strauss. It is unlikely that Vaughan will be left out, but I'd prefer him to be regaining some form in the County Championship than hanging around England's Test team. He could be playing for Yorkshire right now nstead of doing nothingGiven how even I think Strauss, Bell, Cook and Collingwood actually are, I'd probably just drop the lowest scorer of the match if Shah got a ton. Unless of course they all scored well, in which case I'd drop Shah. Leaving Vaughan out isn't really an option, given the fact that he's captain.
Atherton gets it spot on the money IMO (for those watching Sky) - very nervous-looking, fidgety. Some people are just like that. It's the way he goes up, down and back up that's odd, and the jerkiness of it - it's very Goochesque. Lara had the huge jump and the massive backlift, but at least it was all one motion.
In which case he could be playing for England as well. I don't really see Perm's point, TBH.He could be playing for Yorks... if he didn't have a broken digit.
My mind is playing tricks on me.He could be playing for Yorks... if he didn't have a broken digit.
