if he gets anywhere near the one day team then we will know nothing has changed with moores in charge.
And what do you mean by that?

By all reports, Onions was extremely impressive in the academy etc over the winter and has improved considerably in that time.

well...2 quick wickets for Plunkett and Onions gives Durham a chance to get the win, although i'd be happier if they could get Denly out. Jones hasn't done his chances of getting back into the England frame any good with a single run in each innings (and dropping an easy catch)

EDIT: And it seems a bit brighter than it did this afternoon, so hopefully we shouldn't have any problem with bad light

EDIT2: And that's Hall gone, who hung around for a while in the first innings. 7 in the match from Plunkett so far (and 7 for Harmy)

And Harmison gets 5 in the Innings. Surely Durham can take 1 more wicket with numbers 9 and 11 at the crease with (according to Sky Sports) 14 overs more to go

Joseph completes a real match for himself to forget by retiring hurt.

A cracking result for Durham, maximum points, 9 wickets for Harmison, 8 for Plunkett. Worrying collapse from Kent (loosing 6 wickets for 30 runs), although how much that was down to bad shots and how much to very good bowling I don't know.

I went out. I came back. I'm sick as a parrot.

That is one of the worst performances I can remember as a Kent fan. Genuinely awful.

So after that match, looking at the table, Durham are 3rd having played a game less than the 2 teams above (although Yorkshire are 12 points clear of 2nd and 28 points ahead of Durham). Kent badly missed the chance to climb the table and stay 6th, only 7 points off the relegation places (Surrey are 8th but have played a game more).

Very long way to go, but as I said earlier, Durham really needed to get maximum points today and take advantage of having Harmison, Collingwood & Plunkett while they can. It'll be harder to get results without them, and I still have faith in the other bowlers (who did pretty well last year), but points on the board are always a comfort.

I'm still in shock, I can't believe they managed to throw it away from such a comfortable position.

I'd love to be able to say we'll thrash you at our place when you've lost Harmy et al to England, but if we're going to collapse like a house of cards like this on a regular basis, I think I'll bite my tongue...

I just hope Durham don't fade as badly as last season. Pretty surprising table so far tho. Gotta think Surrey and Worcester are favourites for the drop tho, both of their bowling is abject while the batting isn't a great deal better.

Yeah, Surrey and Worcestershire to go back down for me as well. Kent should be safe from the drop again, but aren't going to threaten in the Championship. Would like to think we'll get promoted into the 1st Div of Pro40 though, for what it's worth. Which isn't much.

IIRC, wasnit it only a similar start last season that kept Durham up?

Yeah...In their first 3 games last season, they won 2 and lost one. Same as this year. Hopefully, they'll do better this year though. The batting looks better, and hopefully we'll get more games out of Harmison with him retired from ODI's...I think we're going to do all right this year.
