Sorted. He plays tonight.

Also heard a whisper that one or two Warrington players are soon to be in trouble over a little bit of drug taking.

Harsh on PNG, it means they basically have next to no chance of advancing. I can see why it's been done; Oz sticking 100 on Russia serves no purpose, but equally that being so why bother having the minnows in the same comp as the big boys?

For mine you'd really be better off having the WC as an expanded tri-nations with (say) France & PNG added to it. One group of five, everyone plays each other once with a structure after like they have for NRL/Super League play-offs:

Game 1: 1st v 2nd - winner to final, loser to Game 3
Game 2: 3rd v 4th - winner to Game 3, loser out
Game 3: Loser Game 1 v Winner Game 2 - winner to final, loser out
Final: Winner Game 1 v Winner Game 3

Something like 15 games, all decent(ish) contests. You could also run alongside a junior comp for the lesser nations like they did in 95.
Seems PNG agree with me. They're now threatening to boycott the WC unless the format is changed. From the BBC.

Indeed. Got quite the dilemma on the direst weekend in rugby league's history. Can't decide who would be worse to see win, Hull FC or Paul Cooke.

Hahaha. I love Barrie McDermott.

"Terrific skill shown by Jones-Buchanan there. The size of his skill is only surpassed by the size of his head."

Bradford have been absolutely robbed here. Leeds must've had 6 dodgy decisions in their favour in the last ten minutes.

Leeds' last try was wrong on at least two counts: it was never a penalty in the first place & at least two Leeds players were offside when it was kicked.
