Don't think we have a ready replacement for him itbt.
Horton is an opener, he's only batting at 5 as that's where there is a spot. He opens for the second team, and has opened for the firsts before (and opened for ACT this winter).

for the Hants game could go

Chilton
Horton
Loye
Law
Hodge
Flintoff
Sutton
Chapple
Cork/Mahmood
Anderson
Keedy/Murali (prob won't arrive in time)

Looks a good side. Horton doesn't deserve to be dropped imo.

Younis Khan eh? What a gun match. Bizare game with Essex losing 4 wickets for nothing.

Agrred about the Taunton pitch, no way should Ian Harvey ever get 153 and Tim Ambrose 251*?

What the hell is going on here

Ian Harvey got a double century at Headingley 2 seasons back

Probably a clause in his contract saying he can only bowl so many overs a day.
Indeed, Dale had just recently become centrally contracted and as such the amount of overs he is allowed to bowl a day is limited by Cricket South Africa, to the agreement with Warwickshire.

Ambrose, scored his double ton at New Road and looking at how well Worcestershire are doing, the wicket is not as flat as their bowlers would profess.

Haha, not the first time a side has been disappointed with 500+ at Taunton..

I quite like it.. Gives our totally unremarkable cricket setup a reason to be talked about, apart from being inept..

Good win by Warwickshire and a nice haul of wickets for Steyn, who has already taken more wickets in four games then he did whilst at Essex in 05.

Hick and Smith were the only to that really stood up for Worcester, how long before Phil Jaques finds his feet and starts scoring some runs?

Was curious about the interesting and somewhat unorthodox bowling choices from Yorkshire, just twigged who's captain.

They're working though - Younis has bagged himself 3 top order wickets. Not having a bad match is he?

And after Langer racks up another century, it's a draw...

Cracking finish in the game between Hampshire and Yorkshir - theoretically all results are still possible, but it looks like Yorkshire will sneak it. Another great innings from Pothas though.

Gonna be a tight finish at The Rose Bowl, looks like Yorkshire will take it, but it could certainly go either way.

A tad worrying that Younis Khan (with a mighty haul of 12 previous first-class wickets) comprehensively outbowls Englands great leg-spin hope:unsure:

Derbyshire, bat a long way down, have two extremely good overseas pro's, Somerset’s bowling attack is merely a two man profession and the game is taking place on concrete. Not such a ridiculous notion.
Er, no it's not. Pete Trego's one of the best bowlers so far this season (looking at that new rating system he's ranked about 7th, I think), Steffan Jones is very handy and Mark Turner's looking very good.

Although, I agree the Taunton wickets are an affront to English cricket and serious questions need to be asked for sadly this is not a unique occurrence.
They spent thousands of pounds at the end of last season for an outside contractor to re-lay the pitch in the hope of making it more bowler friendly. It hasn't helped that it hasn't rained properly in months. I can tell you now that Frosty, the head groundsman, is really not happy with it.

What right have you to say that?? The setup is not 'unremarkable' and is not inept, so feck off.
