Richard, just wondering if you rated a certain JAR Blain who played for your county Yorkshire?.Seems to go for plenty whenever he played for them in the last couple of years.Thought he was really going to be a high class bowler after his brilliant 1999 WC.

Always too wayward, TBH.

I do think that counties with tracks as flat as Taunton should be looked at by pitch inspectors though - 600-4dec in the first round of matches in April? What scores are teams going to be racking up by the middle of July?
Read below

Funny thing is I read somewhere that they wre trying to make Taunton more bowler friendly. Not a good start...908 (probably more than that by the time you read this) runs for 6 wickets. Tresco must think he's failed with his 70
LOL at the game going on at Taunton, did they relay the pitch with a road?
Pretty much, yes. It's becoming a great lesson in batting though lol.

Can't be worse, TBH.

And no, I never, ever understand why the blue blazes any bowler would want to make the move to Somerset. Johnson, Willoughby and Langeveldt are all class acts who've done their careers great disservices.
.
Johnson was forever injured, so never really had enough game time to prove himself; Langeveldt was ok and Charl was one half of the best new-ball partnership (tother being Caddy) in the whole country last year! The reason we didn't bowl teams out was that no-one else was getting the wickets required.

Thought it was you... Evidently Hingston has misinformed me.
It's Butler 8-)

Carn Soms, if this match is gonna be a dull draw we might as well at least break some records.

JLL = gun. :cool:
Hell yeah:cool:

Ah top stuff from Langer, and great to see Trescothick in the runs again. Langer to get 400 anyone?
Not forgetting Hildy's 116 & White's114, both great innings.

Oh, I knew who Morse was, and John Thaw - I was :huh:ing at your use of the :w00t: smiley, it's quite unprecedented (though looking back you did twice use it in the CW XI forums an age ago) and most out of character.
 Appropriate for fanboying, I find.

Haha nice work Langer, will he get past his highest FC score? 342 I think it is, I'm backing him to.
Will never have a better opportunity IMO.

Crazy pitch, if I were Middlesex I would put in a bowling machine and have some people do the fielding and go off to the pub for lunch.

Anyone know what's gone wrong with Loudon's bowling?

He seems to be playing primarily as a batsman (scored a 100 @ 5 and was only the eighth bowler called upon)

He was always primarily a batsman AFAIK - one of the many "batsman-spinners" England have picked for ODIs, including Blackwell, Yardy, Dalrymple and at one stage even Vikram Solanki. Bemusing selection policy which I've never understood really.

Well, this morning should see Sussex comfortably finish off Kent. I'm surprised we've taken it into a final day and innings actually - at least we showed some fight second time up, even if it did need no. 10 + 11 to make Sussex bat again.

Incidentally, Patel has to be one of the better tailenders around. He has a very respectable batting average and has dug Kent out of plenty of holes over the years. He's been a decent bowler as well. I always thought he was rather poorly managed in the couple of games he played for England.

Langer out for 315 - he'll be gutted, he'll probably never have as good a chance again to beat his previous best. I'm gutted as well - he's captain of my fantasy team, and if they'd started scoring from the beginning of the season, he'd have got me 630 points just from that one knock!
