So why follow the scores then, in that case? Or read the posts in the threads about them? And if you're not doing that either, how do you know how this game is flowing anyway?

Because I'm interested in the result, ie how many NZ's attack gets hammered for.

What's it looking like on the TV, out of curiosity - is this a flat track, or is our bowling that bad, or is it just that the batsmen are playing incredibly?

EDIT: Or, heaven forbid, all of the above? :(
The track looks slow, but its offering some turn - even Dan is getting it to grip a bit... McGrath will be hard to get away on this pitch I'd say.

Basically all of the above, Ponting has played some of the classiest shots I've seen in a long time while Hayden is being his belligerent self. Extra's were hurting us early and no matter where Franklin and Mason pitched it, it invariably went to the boundary. Pitch does look pretty flat, but not a road or anything.

As the commentators are saying, the outstanding PPs are quickly becoming a big problem for Fleming from here...

Actually it will be interesting to see Flem take the last to PP's from 40-50. Gonna get tonked at 10 per over anyways, whats an extra 5 per over

Symo is not even wearing his odi uniform or sneakers so what would he do if two quick wickets fall (but probably he knows thats not gonna happen).

As soon as we get a wicket he has to take them, but if this two are still together in the 30th over then he'll have to bite the bullet and take them.

Don't know why he isn't just sticking with his currently economical bowlers, to be honest. If you can't get them out, the least you can do is pile pressure on until one of them does get out. Better than waiting for Symonds to slap your spinners around like we know he can.

Beautiful to watch two pros taking bowlers for 6-8 runs an over against a good fielding team with almost no risk...

Thought for a wonderful yet brief moment that we might have had a run out there. I think that's only way this partnership can be broken.

I think he really needs to make a lot of bowling changes here so that Hayden and Ponting don't get used to the individual pace of each bowler. Martin Crowe said it was one of the key aspects as to why New Zealand went so well in 1992, we rotated out dibbly dobblers a lot so the batsman never really got settled against them and didn't lay into them.
