Tom Halsey
International Coach
Strange performance from us tonight, very good at times, very average at times.
Hope to God Evra's injury isn't too bad.

From what I can know Angel would be earning less in MLS than he would at most clubs in the Premiership. I'm pretty sure there are clubs in England, Spain and Italy willing to buy Angel if he was available.Craig's answer makes perfect sense. The MLS will be considered something other than a highly-paid retirement home when players move across the pond for reasons of career advancement rather than financial advancement.
Wrong league though. That was the NASL. MLS is completely different. No doubt it's not one of the top leagues but it's making serious improvement and I would rank it ahead of most European leagues only behind the EPL, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Eredivisie. The SPL, Ligue 1 and 1 Divisao are that bit better. It always has been. The likes of Beckenbauer and Pele spent seasons near the end of their career in America.
What, £40k a week? From what I can know Angel would be earning less in MLS than he would at most clubs in the Premiership. I'm pretty sure there are clubs in England, Spain and Italy willing to buy Angel if he was available.
BBC said:Inverness Caley Thistle will not be able to play in the Intertoto Cup next season because the second round of the competition will clash with an Elton John concert at their ground.
It's basically the same league though really, and if the SPL is better than ffs it's dire.Wrong league though. That was the NASL. MLS is completely different. No doubt it's not one of the top leagues but it's making serious improvement and I would rank it ahead of most European leagues only behind the EPL, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Eredivisie. That's why the leading lights of MLS get moves to non-descript Belgium clubs. MLS is still a joke and Juan Angel's move reaffirms such notions.Wrong league though. That was the NASL. MLS is completely different. No doubt it's not one of the top leagues but it's making serious improvement and I would rank it ahead of most European leagues only behind the EPL, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Eredivisie. That's what they do, they either have a subsidy of their sponsors name on the shirt or just a blank box.You know after doing some reading recently technically AC Milan and Werder Breman should not be allowed to play Champions League and/or UEFA Cup games in France due to shirt sponsor bwin (Zurich based Bet To Win) being illegal in France as it against French law to allow overseas gambling companies in France (be it online etc.). Or if they were to play it would be without the sponsor on the front.
What'd that make the Mexican Primera División? Second best league in the world?Wrong league though. That was the NASL. MLS is completely different. No doubt it's not one of the top leagues but it's making serious improvement and I would rank it ahead of most European leagues only behind the EPL, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Eredivisie. Presumably he'll be in a coaching role at the club till he meets the man with the scythe. Even though it is to Manchester United, one can't help admire the loyalty of the bloke. While I see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (no Hak, my computer keyboard does not speak Norwegian) is all but certain to retire at the end of next season. I would imagine a testimonal will be in order for him, given what he has done for them over the years. I must say though that I'm impressed he is still playing football and the loyality shown by Ferguson when he could of let him go long ago when he first started to get his knee problems.
Not English, but Barcelona would have a few.I wonder which club has the most loyal players, if not United, over the years. Would be interesting to see an average number of seasons for each club per player. Some stats nerd who isn't me should do that sometime.
Ole is only paid as a player for the games he's involved with this season, as far as I know. I don't see why that can't continue. He's already involved with United on a coaching basis as well and, again, I expect that to continue. He's not past it yet - still scoring goals.
Valdes is the worst 'keeper (1st choice anyway) at any of the big European clubs IMO.Not English, but Barcelona would have a few.
Carles Puyol, Victor Valdes (probably wouldn't be there now if Louis van Gaal wasn't sacked), Oleguer (deadset he looks like a bloody horse in older photos), Albert Jorquera (back up goal keep), Thiago Motta, Andrea Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez, and Lionel Messi (don't see him being sold anytime soon and he has been there since age 12 or 13).
Plus if they had kept Jose Reina (Reina > Valdes IMO) and weren't smoking anything when Cesc Fabregas left for North London.
Depending which one shows up Dida can be just as bad. Then again he can also play like he is the best in the world.Valdes is the worst 'keeper (1st choice anyway) at any of the big European clubs IMO.
