We only just got to the second spot though, by beating them 6-1. Therefore there wasn't enough space between us and them when they beat Australia 3-2 (while we were inactive) and therefore moved marginally ahead into number 2.

England receive a boost heading into the Champions Trophy, as opening batsman Marcus Trescothick returns to the squad in place of the struggling Ed Joyce.

I anticapate we will have to announce the other squads particapating in the first round first. Then as all selectors do have a look at the strength's of the other sides

Going by previous squad announced most squads get announce a 3 to 4 days before our first match. The earliest i can recall is about a week before the first match. But as Justin pointed out the sides taking part in the first round should be announced first.
