err, Mahroof > Franklin
Vettori = Vaas in ODI's.
Bond > Murali
Gillespie = Fernando.
Let's put this to the ratings test.

Farveez Maharoof SL, Rating - 376, Highest rank - 84
Daniel Vettori NZ, Rating - 373, Highest rank - 81
James Franklin NZ, Rating - 271, Highest rank - 157
Chaminda Vaas SL, Rating - 265, Highest rank - 72
Shane Bond NZ, Rating - 252, Highest rank - 111
Dilhara Fernando SL, Rating - 242, Highest rank - 119
Mark Gillespie NZ, Rating - 219, Highest rank - 214
Muttiah Muralidaran SL, Rating - 163, Highest rank - 107

Sum NZ: 1115
Sum SL: 1046

My conclusion is that they're effectively just as good as each other.

Jeez....FFS, do we really need a discussion about the logistics of international bag losses with requisite pot-shots and dick-waving?

School Boy/Girl Captain
Err, it's not a LOL matter. There isn't much to seperate Franklin's and Maharoof's records [Maharoof's slightly better] - I have watched both of them bat and Maharoof definitely looks a proper, better batsman.
:lol:

Anyway, good over for NZ. Well done Styris

Raj Padmanathan, who earlier predicted that Vaas would strike twice in the first three overs ( Did you put any money on that boss?!), writes in, "SL need to keep on tightening the runs given. The more economical they are, the better it is. If they manage to keep the runs under 100 by the 30th over, they have a great chance of getting NZ out cheaply."
Raj is a rocket scientist.

Taylor has got out twice in 3 balls for 0 runs against proper opposition in this WC so far :-O

Just gotta get off the mark and he'll be ok.

I suppose I'll make a prediction. Shane Bond to top the records for ODI bowling averages by the end of this game, surpassing Garner.

Does anyone else think it was a strange decision to bat first after winning the toss by Fleming?
Flem has rock hard balls tbh.

Everyone knows that NZ are a good chasing team, but in order to be successful you gotta be able to chase and set totals so.......

Bad start, but its not over.

EDIT: Fulton heard that no ball call for mine :p
