Perfect result for you thenI'm a bit torn...I'd like a comfortable win, but at the same time I think our middle order (Oram, McCullum spring to mind) really need some time in the middle.

He looked the goods against New Zealand before dragging one onto the stumps, definately watch him attack Pollock.I'm worried about Gayle finally clicking. I think he's due.
Bosman is rubbish, if the pitch is playing low then he should get castled pretty quickly. The only thing he could bat on is a road.Loots is inline to make his World Cup debut this afternoon, Herschelle Gibbs according SuperSport has not fully recovered from his calf strain. Bosman will open and AB will take Gibbs position at four. Can’t wait to see Bosman in action, if the wicket is as slow and low as they say it should be brief but you never know with Loots, struggling attack, new hard ball, I’ll fancy him.
We know that but does not detract from the fact that he can take apart bowling attacks. He looked the goods against New Zealand before dragging one onto the stumps, definately watch him attack Pollock.

Well, so can Stuart MacGill when he's in a silly mood and luck goes his way. He doesn't do it very often though. Neither does Bosman - and I'd imagine he'd do it even less against better bowling (not that the WI bowling will be significantly better than what he'd face in ODD cricket though, if they insisit on playing only two specialist bowlers..). For someone who rates Justin Kemp so lowly, you rates Loots Bosman surprisingly highly. We know that but does not detract from the fact that he can take apart bowling attacks.
So can a lot of players, but I don't think Loots will be doing that tonight if the pitch is going to be low as you suggest. We know that but does not detract from the fact that he can take apart bowling attacks.
Summed it up pretty well, Bosman doesn't have much footwork and instead just stands at the crease and blasts away. Bit like Lou Vincent used to be, and still is sometimes. If a track was pretty even in pace and bounce and not offering much sideways movement then Bosman would be in paradise, as it is I think he'll really struggle. You also seemed to be suggesting that a track keeping low would suit him... but from what I've seen, he doesn't really get forward, instead playing very much from the crease, which would mean a track keeping low or inconsistent could really find him out more than any other pitch. Admittedly I haven't seen a great deal of him though so I could be wrong about his foot preference.

Also I don't rate Loots, I said before he was even selected (two years ago) that his not much and pretty useless but he can may hay and unlike Kemp is not particularly fussy at what pace the bowler bowls at. Justin Kemp is universally liked because he can destroy medium pace bowling of the type that New Zealand and India serve up (at home), my critique of Kemp comes from the fact that he has some ability but instead of working on it, Justin is happy to remain in his one trick pony comfort zone.TTBOY said:if the wicket is as slow and low as they say it should be brief
Lou must have changed his game quite a bit over the last six months because he had zero footwork in the Champions Trophy. The cynic in me suspects Lou hasn't changed nothing about his game but has just cashed in on the road wickets in Australia and New Zealand, or is that completely unfair? So can a lot of players, but I don't think Loots will be doing that tonight if the pitch is going to be low as you suggest.

That's actually a pretty fair assessment actually. His back foot movements are actually quite good, but his front foot shots generally consist of a slight prop forward (but never across, or a long way) and a big swipe. He seems to move his front foot much better in test matches though, for whatever reasons.Lou must have changed his game quite a bit over the last six months because he had zero footwork in the Champions Trophy. Fair assesment in some regards, but Vincent has tightened up a lot around his off stump where as Bosman seems pretty hopeless against anything that isn't a half volley. The wickets he has been playing on have been pretty flat, but his footwork and patience have improved too.Lou must have changed his game quite a bit over the last six months because he had zero footwork in the Champions Trophy. They picked Devon Smith actually - not Simmons. They also picked Pollard ahead of Dwayne Smith. Apart from Samules's exclusion, I think this is probably the best lineup they can field at this time....and Simmons over Samuels.
Bizarre.
They've just been banging on for the last few minutes about what the possible reasons for Simmons batting at eight are on TMS. This is the same broadcaster that on Sunday were too incompetent to have a scorer or open a Cricinfo window to work out how many balls Pietersen had faced since his last boundary. They picked Devon Smith actually - not Simmons.
