He's gotta convert some of these starts and 50s into 100s, he can't just satisfy himself by being average or slightly above average generally. He's performing much better than the rest of the top 3, but he should be wanting to perform to the best of his ability. KP isn't satisfied with the 50s he's scored - he wants more. KP obviously takes more risks than Bell.

Bell's lazy, stupid run out in the last game sparked a collapse. When he gets in he should make it count because there'll be times when he won't get in.
Agreed he should have gone on from there and he needs to do that more often. Well I say 'more often' but he's never done it anyway...

Played well for the 77 though.

HOGGYYYYY!!! Twice in a row and Flintoff still didn't pick it. Great pressure, and great spell by Hogg after some poor stuff earlier.

Flintoff really needs to bat up the order or down at 7/8. He just doesn't have a clue when he comes out to bat in this middle period when he can't out and out attack, can't get singles, will generally come up against spinners he hasn't much clue against.

But either he was a jammy bastard to undeservedly get to 77 given the risky shots he was playing, or he was playing an attacking, inventive style that produces results but is open to a dismissal like that. You can't say, IMO, that you're happy to take the half-century produced by that style of play but then be annoyed when it leads to his downfall.

Terrific spell from Hoggy comes to an end, really it was a classy spell of spin bowling and was a treat to watch.

Top innings from Bell there, held it all together. KP playing well as per usual, but we can't keep relying on him. Vaughan, Strauss, Flintoff all need to make runs or we're ****ed. We can't just hope that KP, Collingwood and Bell will bail us out in these matches, because KP is bound to hit a rotten form some time.
