Dhaka Division versus Green

Played in Dhaka

Scorecard
Commentary

The day started of well for the young Green side when Mitchell had his first wicket in the 2nd over Hossain caught behind by Dubb-Lynch. Omar was joined at the crease by Ayub which proved to be a rather optimistic partnership for the home side Ayub going at a run a ball and Omar occupying the crease the role the Bangladeshi opener is suited too. Ayub was trapped LBW by Cameron and Omar soon followed to rookie Speirs. 3/124, and Dhaka were in a good position, but could they ram home the advantage? Ashraful and Sahariar came to the crease and started off very positively all was coming to fruition before skipper Garven stepped in bowling Sahariar, Ashraful was soon to follow out to Garven again this time caught by Rose. Hossain, Kadir and Rafique all finished the innings off with a flurry of boundaries with the score ending up 6/292. It was a poor effort considering it was a pitch conducive to bowlers. Overall Green's bowlers were poor and it showed in what their batsmen produced later.

It started out with some solid stroke play by promising all-rounder Corrin but in the process Hogarth, Read and Dubb-Lynch all disappeared back to the pavilion. Corrin was unfortunately run out and then the skipper Garven followed next ball. 5/74 Green were in dire straits here and needed a few batsmen to stand up to gain some respectability. Lezama and Rose fought and nudged their way to 52 in Rose's case and 44 in Lezama's. Cameron also did his bit with 34* to show why he thinks he should be batting up the order this season. 9/222, the poor performance of Green's bowling attack and top order ultimately made the difference. Nazmul Hossain and Marshall Ayub were the best bowlers for the home team producing four and two wicket hauls respectively.

Dhaka 6/292

M.Ayub 64, M.Ashraful 55, A.J Garven 3/51

Cricket Web Green 9/222

X.P.A Rose 52, A.Lezama 44, N.Hossain 4/47, M.Ayub 2/16

Dhaka Division won by 70 runs.

Man of the Match : Nazmul Hossain

Definitely correct about poor bowling. Only a couple of us did decent. Batsmen failed as well. Can't let that happen come the real thing. Pleased to see Cameron do well with the bat though.

Mixture of poor bowling and batting there. Disapointed with my performance with the ball. 0 for 30 off 5 is not a good return. Better than expected with the bat though :p

Glad to be playing hopefully I can get a few runs in the next few games. I think I'm due considering I've had 3 single-figure scores in a row:mellow:

My apologies on the above. Unfortunately i couldn't quite fit everyone in for 2 FC games. Rose drew the short straw and will only play the 1 FC game.

The sides for the remaining 2 FC games are;

FC game 2
D Hogarth
A Lezama
B Read
N Scott
A Garven
D Dubb-Lynch
T Halsey
D Speirs
J Forner
M Mitchell
E McNamara

FC Game 3
R Malone
D Hogarth
J Rodgie
B Read
M Corrin
B Cunningham
D Speirs
P Gundry
J Forner
A Cameron
E McNamara
Who is our lucky person with the gloves in FC Game 3?
