It's certainly shaping up to be an Aus/NZ final and I would love to see NZ win it seeing as they are perennial darkhorses and have never won the WC.
I think they would be a buoyed with their recent successes against Australia, certainly Ponting will be having second thoughts of batting first with arguably the deepest batting lineup (Styris-McMillan-Oram-McCullum-Vettori-Franklin) in the competition.
Certainly not ruling SL out especially if Jayasuriya and the bowlere fire.
Not entirely convinced about SAf but they will desperately need Pollock back to form to mount a serious challenge and so do I (considering he is my cricketweb fantasy captain!)

Not as convinced about New Zealand as a lot of people seem to be. To an extent they are still a bit unproven in that they haven't played any other of so the called big 4 (Aus SA & Lanka).
The top order looks shaky, more so with Vincent out, & with Bond the only strike bowler I do feel the rest of bowling can be got after.

Mm...how's that funny? Australia are pretty much spot on to win the cup. They're gonna brush NZ, Eng and SL aside. If SL can't beat Eng today, they have absolutely no hope against Aus. The only side capable of challenging Australia is NZ, with their dibbly-dobblies on the slow pitches, but I see a comfortable WC win for Australia.

Good call that. The 1992 side had a team suited to only slow low conditions. The NZ squad these days are suited to pretty much any conditions.

I don't even no why you watch cricket then, or sport in general.

So they haven't even played any of those teams you have mentioned in the World Cup conditions, have they?
New Zealand are unbeaten aswell as Australia. Unbeaten=unbeatable???? Hell no
And how do you see Australia brushing passed all of NZ, ENG, and SL. I'm picking NZ to beat Aussie, England to run them close, and SL to maybe even beat them.
And even if the Aussies do go into the semi's unbeaten, I hardly would think it would be comfortable to win the WC from there. Makes me wonder if you have seen any other game other than an Australian one.
Oh and dibblie-dobblies? I see no Larsen, I see no Harris

New Zealand are not out of trouble yet because even if they beat Ireland, and then if they lose to SL, AUS and SA then they would have 8 points.
So things could get complicated for New Zealand, if one or two teams are also level on points with them, then the NRR might come into play.

It would be a bit of a surprise if, after hopefully extending our winning streak to 9 against Ireland and continuing our unbeaten WC campaign, we suddenly lost 3 in a row though.
But after years of disappointment and even humiliation I wouldn't put anything past NZ.

The days of a NZ dibbly dobbly attack are long gone...if anything we have the same type of bowling attack as everyone else does now.
When we rolled out the likes of Harris, Larsen, Patel, Astle etc...sure it was dibbly dobbly but not anymore when our first choice would be Bond, Vettori, Oram, Mills, Gillespie and Styris as back up and then McMillan if he's really needed.

I agree with this, unfortunately. I guess the main reason I haven't been that excited by this world cup is that Australia have been on fire, and no one looks like challenging them.
This is dissapointing after we all thought that the bowling looked weak, and that they were beatable.
I kind of feel like I already know the outcome of the tournament.

Oram and Styris are pretty much dibbly-dobblies. Other than Bond they don't really have a strike bowler: Mason, Gillespie, Franklin, they're like the Plunketts and Mahmoods of NZ: one good game and 5 lukewarm ones. So far, the guys doing the real damage have been the medium pacers like Oram and Styris (and of course Bond, but he's an exception).

WTF? Oram is a high-class ODI bowler when he gets it right - and I might not know a hell of a lot about the "dibbly-dobbly" stupid-word-users, but I'd guess that being 6ft6in might preclude one from being judged as such?
And Styris is not a frontline bowler, whether or not he qualifies for this "dibbly-dobbly" rubbish.

I wouldn't call Oram dibbly-dobbly at all. As Richard said he's really rather tall and uses his height to great effect when he bowls, generating quite steep bounce that most dibbly-dobbly bowlers would be quite startled if they ever managed to get.
I'll give you Styris though.
