BARNES OUT
Black's suffer first defeat at the hands of a resurgent NSW side

The players arrived at North Sydney Oval to find a pitch with a bit of grass, and some overhead cloud that would cater to early swing. New South Wales skipper Simon Katich was delighted to win the toss, and he didn't hesitate to send in the tourists, confident his bowlers could do the job they'd failed to do earlier in the week at the SCG.

Things started well for the CW side and international duo Ian Markus and Andy Cloete got off to a flier. Despite the early swing, they ran hard and hit the odd boundary, taking the score to 34 before Cloete fell to Dougy Bollinger, with a ball that nipped away off the seam and tokk the leading edge of the bat. From here on, it was all downhill for the Dev League defending champions. Markus nudged one to gully for 32 and Smith clipped the ball off his pads to Cowan and backward square. Blackman was the only real resistance, scoring a chance less 60 and in putting together a 70 run partnership with Blake Donald, salvaged some respectability for the total. Despite his best efforts though, the side fell to be all out for 191.

NSW started poorly, with Jaques chopping on for 8 and Cowan barely able to get it off the square. Though, despite some valiant new ball bowling from Su and some controlled lines from Kev Goughy, the other bowlers lacked penetration on a pitch which had lost a lot of it's life in the 45.5 overs previous. Brad Haddin and Dom Thornley had little trouble taking the score from 3/64 to reach their total, with 6 overs to spare no less.

The OD vs. South Australia has been simmed, but I need to go to bed. Will be posted when I get back from uni tomorrow, along with the FC games due.

Because I'm a little behind, I'm not going to write reports, just give a headline and a scorecard.

Black fall agonisingly short in tense runchase.

Despite valiant efforts with the bat from Alex Blackman and (surprisingly) Neil Pickup, South Australia held on at the death to seal a second successive loss for the touring side.

South Australia complete double with crushing performance from Rofe

The top order failed to score and the bowlers were largely ineffective. South Australia dominated in all aspects and took home a deserved win. Black certainly face a re-think before heading across to Perth to face WA.

It's crazy, Rofe didn't even had that good stats. Borcich's are better yet he couldn't buy a wicket. Eh.

Poor performances from us guys, may force us to play some full strength games against WA to make sure we don't lose like that again.

Gunnest captain, even better team though.

Shame about the losses, but look, we'll bounce back, it's a certainty.

Meeks has been brilliant though, got faith in Al as well. Both of them are great additions to the Black squad.

Few good signs for the team there, few bad ones too though. I'm in pretty good OD form, but I'll need to work on my FC batting during my suspension.
